761382 I think Sheedy should bring on Hennessy and Callinan, Pa Burke David Young and Kerwick and let the u 21 boys concentrate on Saturday week as that should be enough to beat the cats we have so much in strength!

Passionate tipp supporter that you are, i would have expected you to know that seamus hennessy is one of "the u21 boys" thurlesblues!
offwithya , 31/08/2010 at 16:03

yes I know too well but Hennessy would need the match practice against Kilkenny to get him right for Galway as he hasnt been on the first senior 15 whereas the rest of the u 21 boys have, thats why Id let Sheedy play Hennessy for awhile against the Cats just to sharpen him up a bit for Saturday week!!
thurlesblues , 31/08/2010 at 16:10

of coure young Heffernan could do with a run around too to sharpen him up for Galway
thurlesblues , 31/08/2010 at 16:18

we will leave young John O Neill alone for awhile to recover from his cruciate which was "genuine" and kept him out of hurling for the last 8 months

Thurles, You don't need to cut and paste in reply to all your own posts. We all know you like talking to yourself. It gets sore on the eyes trying to read what is new and what is old in your posts. At least we know it all is nonsense. ;-)

Tipp, the home of Hurling. Kilkenny, the home of Liam.

which Liam are you talking about is it the Liam McCarthy that played with ye in 91 when we beat ye or the cup Liam which rightfully belongs in Thurles and will be there Monday evening?

I hope none of our u 21s get injured on Sunday as we need them Saturday week
I think Sheedy should take them off with about ten minutes to go!

i think if the tipp backs hold strong and not give away stupid frees they have a good chance also hope the tipp players have forgotten about last year the ref can be blamed all you like but really tipp should have been out of sight by then the goal chances killed us its hard to see us creating goal chances with hickey back but i think the tipp forwards can find a way through get a good start exchange score for score and get to the last 5 mnutes intact tipp can win

If Kilkenny introduce Henry with ten minutes to go then I think Sheedy could take off some of our boys!

good to see some real Tipp hurling analysis for a change. I think the key to Tipp winning could be work rate. You have to match Kilkenny in that department first & then keep with them score for score. I hope Sheedy doesn't go all tactical & lets his lads play, but work like dogs to stop Kilkenny getting in shots etc. If he lets them play 15 V 15 it should be a great final.

slayer:
agreed tipp's workrate will have to be 100% from the word go i don't think sheedy will bother with tacticsif we employ a sweeper or something we'll nearly admit defeat he just needs to put his trust into each tipp player to do his best i think if we're very close with 10 minutes to go the lads need to keep their cool our full backline is crucial but i think they'll be up for the challenge hope mickey cahill won't be fazed by it all but i doubt he will and i hope its terrific we need a brilliant final the football has really overshadowed the hurling this year

I agree with slayer,I think the Tipp players will definetly not lack the hunger to win on Sun and neither will the KK players, you could go thru every line and compare the 2 teams and there wouldnt be much between them, maybe 1 player will have one of those special games which often happens in finals and swing it for his team, the question is who might it be?

another likelihood is kilkenny won't stop pressurising the tipp backs till they concede a goal they did that against cork and it paid off even if tipp don't concede a goal early all that pressure will takes its toll and they could pay the price but then again the tipp back lines are young only declan fanning is 30 maybe itwon't work as well against the tipp backs because they're younger and could cope with it

Both teams will be hungry for this match. And if the players aren't, they'll be whipped off as both teams have decent lads on the bench, full panels.

Look at the last 2-3 years' league matches (bar Nowlan Park) - all been extremely close. This is going to the edge.

what about the pressure the Tipp forwards will put on the Kilkenny backs Moddy they wont have come across that before and wont like the Tipp lads running at them down the middle where they are weak!
