Small in stature but hurling giants nonetheless

Call it the "height" of nonsense but d'aul back is at me and I'm off work and trying to keep meself occupied. The only proviso I made in selecting this team was that they had to be under 6 foot and I had to have seen them play (TV doesn't count). Granted, a bit of a "tall" story with regards to positionings & there may be one or two who are taller than I thought but poetic licence and all dat...

Some great hurlers in that line up. I'm surprised Sid is less than 6 foot. Even checked it and you're right.

Fan Larkin was awesome. Killed lads twice his height.

Joe Hennessy was one of the most skilful players I have ever seen. Seems a lot of cats and tribemens on your team. Must be something in the water.

Ollie Moran?

Should that be Vincent 'Ollie' O'Connor?

Aren't you forgetting the greatest of them all?
Christy Ring was only a small fella. I've always thought it made it all the more extraordinary that he could do what he could given that he must invariably have been marking fellas that were bigger if not stronger than him.

Ollie moran is over 6 foot I'd say. fergal ryan and wayne sherlock were excellent backs but not the biggest. Jonathan clancy is a good modern player who isn't massive.

Maroonatic did say he had to see them play. Soemhow I don't think he is in his 60/70s! Late 30s by the looks of it with those KK and Galway players.

That boy Coughlan from Offaly. And I'd make a case for one of our own - Joey Towell who played for Dubs in late 70s and early 80s.

moddy91 Was Pat Fox under 6 foot ? Always rated him the most dangerous player of that Tipp side, better than Nicky English imo. As for Charlie Carter I remember him coming on in a league Final against Tipp in Croker and running riot. He was Cody's captain that year but couldn't get a first choice place on the team

Jimmy Doyle the greatest forward of all time Pat Fox Francis Loughnane WEV SO MANY NO POINT MENTIONING ANY MORE AND THEY WERE ALL SMALL IN STATURE! Whats the difference between Jimmy Doyle and D.J.cAREY?? You need two hands to count Jimmys medals and he also made the team of the millenium in D.Js position!

What about the great Jimmy Barry Murphy? He was able to score on his knees so that would have made him under 6 foot.
