Ah get over it lads. That happens everywhere. Ya shouldnt stop playing till ya hear the whistle a few times. Dont think this is the reason for Tyrone losing rebeltrev (Cork) - Posts: 344 - 02/08/2010 16:11:35 733035 Link 0 |
Rebeltrev its only ONE MEATH MAN .. no more than one .. trying to have a pop at the dubs as a means of making himself feel better after yesterdays defeat .. kinda sad really .. waynoI (Dublin) - Posts: 13654 - 02/08/2010 16:15:55 733052 Link 0 |
Apologies to the true dubs - the 10,000 odd that go to games after a defeat. Should not tar everyone with the same brush Glenswilly77 (Donegal) - Posts: 201 - 02/08/2010 16:17:05 733055 Link 0 |
rebeltrev correct tyrone did not lose the game due to the whistling they lost in there 18 wides and dublins hard work. Dellboypolecat (Tyrone) - Posts: 15069 - 02/08/2010 16:18:44 733058 Link 0 |
actually the best team didn't win. tyrone 16 wides says it all. but fair play dublin, i was gonna start this thread as it annoyed me watching it on tv but then you will just get all the dubs posters replying with their typical sour grape comments and so on. donaldo (Meath) - Posts: 352 - 02/08/2010 16:19:20 733060 Link 0 |
All white, I never said I could see any one with a whistle because obviously this person was mingled with the others ..but it was clear that it was coming from the hill. By good luck I actually have combined faculties of sight and hearing by which I can conclude that no-one took the whistle from this person. Also the stewards are marked with yellow bibs, (a health and safety feature employed by the GAA at most grounds a number of years ago so that they can become clearly visible to patrons) and I was looking straight down the pitch towards them. rattletheonion (Tyrone) - Posts: 50 - 02/08/2010 16:19:26 733061 Link 0 |
WaynoI how could I possibly be having a pop at the dubs? Read the opening post of the thread carefully. It amazes me how many people such as yourself can't read properly. Jimin10 (Meath) - Posts: 783 - 02/08/2010 16:23:34 733073 Link 0 |
its amazing that the whistle didnt affect the dublin players they were on the pitch at the same time werent they? must've had cotton wool in their ears i suppose b.mullins (Dublin) - Posts: 1413 - 02/08/2010 16:26:12 733076 Link 0 |
Were you at the game, b mullins? rattletheonion (Tyrone) - Posts: 50 - 02/08/2010 16:29:34 733083 Link 0 |
mullins the dubs blowing their whistles didn't do it when dublin were on the attack but when tyrone were with the intention of cheating tyrone which they managed to do. donaldo (Meath) - Posts: 352 - 02/08/2010 16:30:58 733084 Link 0 |

Its funny how the whistle only blew when Tyrone were shooting into the hill, and when Tyrone had the ball in the Dublin half and on attack. Didn't here this whistle in the second at all. MourneArmy (Down) - Posts: 1787 - 02/08/2010 16:35:43 733098 Link 0 |
Correct donaldo. Whistle was blown only when a Tyrone player was in possession of the ball. rattletheonion (Tyrone) - Posts: 50 - 02/08/2010 16:35:51 733099 Link 0 |
Typical behaviour like but he shouldn have stopped anyway, its our own fault we lost ye have to expect that kind of stuff when playing dublin but we should have been fit to go down like before and beat them well but it didnt happen! redhanddefender (Tyrone) - Posts: 913 - 02/08/2010 16:37:07 733102 Link 0 |
I was at the game & I expected the colour & noise from the hill. It does bring a special atmosphere which is to be welcomed, but some of the booing of free-takers & the whistle episode were very un-sporting. blu (Down) - Posts: 1240 - 02/08/2010 16:41:43 733109 Link 0 |
the tyrone players are way too experienced to let a muppet with a whistle put them off and wouldnt dream of using it as an excuse for losing @donaldo i will not debate cheating with you because being from meath you are a far superior expert on the subject b.mullins (Dublin) - Posts: 1413 - 02/08/2010 16:44:49 733114 Link 0 |

This even happens at club games with a few hundred people. Penrose and co. should have been experienced enough not to fall for it. Redfoot (Cork) - Posts: 388 - 02/08/2010 16:47:19 733120 Link 0 |
Could not believe it when I heard the whistle blow and Penrose stopped although this was terrible behaviour lets not forget what Bernard Brogan did against Meath the ref blew his whistle but he still popped the ball in the back of the net for safe measure penrose should of kept going, if it was disallowed because the whistle already went it was disallowed they would of moved on but that was very off putting I can only imagine.
