kingpuck71 catch yourself on man. Cork's outings this year were nothing too spcial. Both teams have an equal chance but I feel that Down has the more hunger and will win by a few points.

Tick tock! Time running out for Cork dreams. A county full of hot air with the bubble ready to burst!

God, but there was some awful drivel posted in this thread.

I've no problem with people supporting a team or declaring who they hope will win, but much of this thread was just writing biased BS based on selective reading of teams' form and history and dressing it up as reasonable, objective analysis. There are certain posters who I'd love to come on and stand over their posts. I'm not even talking about wrong predictions here - it was possible to make a reasonable case for both Cork and Down in the final - I'm talking about bad predictions, such as those that said if Down were still in touch with ten minutes to go they would win - the unsaid basis for this opinion was, presumably, Cork's reputation as bottlers, in spite of the fact that Cork won their semi-final in the last 10/15 minutes, while Down almost lost their semi-final in the same period of the match.

774653 "Pat Spillane once summing up Cork so well said that they were a load of chancers lacking in skill but blessed with luck"

Come Sunday evening will Pat Spillane be correct?

Yes Pat you were correct. Luck seen Cork snatch victory from Down by one miserable point!

One miserable point was all it took. Good luck to Cork and fair play to Down for a great season. I wish we were in their position.
