Meath "fans" attack Dublin team bus

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Have to say couldn't give a crap about the bus incident as I stated earlier but I have to say I do have a concern about some the small incidents I have seen creeping in to a small minority of supporters in Dublin vs Meath games!

Even in the O'Byrne cup game in Navan there was tension but I think that may have been Meath scum v Meath scum that day?

Listen I respect many things that you said on this thread Jinxie...

But in my book condoning the actions of those involved in pulling down my county colours in my own feckin city and dancing on our flag as "Harmless" is simply not on in my book... and I dont think any proud supporter would condone such disrespectful antics.

I apologise for losing my temper with you... but really what would expect from such an ignorant comment.

It probably was Dubs throwing stones. Dubs, you never know when they'll turn on you.

Jesus Jimbo your having a go at everyone today.

So much so that its effecting your reading.

I stated all along that I would not in any way, condone any loutish or s**mbag behaviour. But you still reffer to the s**m as fans, where I wouldnt.
As for your refernce to your precious flag, Ive never once said it was acceptable to do it, I jst stated that throwing bottles at the Guards is worse than taking down a flag, in this country anyway. If you have a problem seeing around that, then this forum is certainly not the one for you.

You seen to want to turn this into something that its not. You have gotten personal a few times now & keep throwing out the line that I keep pointing the finger. Tell me who in particular im pointing it at? You are the one who chooses to acknowledge that s**m as fans, not me. Ive made my position on this very clear, any behaviour like that has no place in the GAA, you however seem to want to keep this going & stirring it up. You have got to be an alias of Dellboys they way you can take a thread off topic!

Jimbo, why have you now resorted to totally disrespecting Meath GAA. Dublin have a richer GAA tradition that Meath!! How do you come to this conclusion? The tradition of any county is not just based on the amount of titles won, its based on the love of the organisation and the constant promotion of its games and ideals and the hard work that goes into doing this, and on that score Meath have just as much GAA tradition as Dublin. Yous suggestion that Dublin are just better that Meath in both codes is really a childish spat. Yes Dublin are better than Meath in hurling and as far as I know always have been and at this moment in time Dublin are superior to Meath in football since 2001 based on titles won and head to head encounters but I have never met a Dublin supporter who looked down at a Meath supporter and considered himself superior because of tradition or anything else. Genuine Meath and Dublin supporters have respect and regard for each other and even though Dublin have been dominant of late those same Dublin supporters know that any Meath team can beat them on any given day and they acknowledge our ability to do so. With regards to the 7 stars on the jersey that was not a decision made by Meath but by O'Neills who incorporated it as a design feature, you will note that Tyrone have 3 stars on their jersey also as 3 time All Ireland winners. I am proud of those 7 stars and the success they represent and seeing as you believe you are superior I will remind you of a fact I previously stated, those 7 stars represent our 7 All Irelands from 1949 to the present, the seven occasions Sam Maguire visited our county. Since the Sam Maguire was first presented in the 20's your superior county has also raised the Sam Maguire aloft 7 times and while I acknowledge your other 15 titles prior to 1928 your All Itreland record since hardly allows you too much of an inflated sense of superiority.

Cmon Jimbo keep it in your pants your only giving him the reaction he wants! Why else would some tool from Offaly be on here.

Meath Dublin rivalry has always been a healthy 1! The banter is the best you will get and in general they are genuine fans as are the Dubs! I think everyone on here agrees with that so lets not make this in to something!

Richie

We're going for our 6th Leinster title in a row for heaven sake.... Meath haven't even contested a final since 2001… put that on your jersey beside your stars

You're not in our League man... literally…!!

But on a serious note I have huge respect for Meath man... I'm lucky to call a few Maeth supporters my good friends!

Jinxie...

Ripping down a Dublin flag in the middle of Dublin is far from harmless... they were lucky that it didnt cause an incident.

But again at lease they did uit when there was no Dublin suppoprters around - Luckily they were cowards and avoided an incident.
