Meath "fans" attack Dublin team bus

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Attacking our team bus when were not even playing them.
Throwing stones at us.
Throwing cups of tea at our players leaving the pitch being substituted.
Pulling down our flag on the streets of our own town and cheering it. (again when were not even playing them because the cowards wouldnt have the guts to do it when a dublin man is about!!).

This meath s**m needs sorting!

15goals and 67 points over them should be enough! He He He!
Yeah, well done to these meath s**m for making sure their team will not win Leinster this year should they come up against us!!!

For gods sake dry your eyes, Clubs in the 6 Occupied Counties of Ireland have had their Cars, Mini Buses , Buses and Trains stoned for years, club houses burned down, pitches destroyed, club members murdered, and got no help from the other 26 counties , and to add insult to injury, these are the people whom Congress voted to allow into Croke park, against the wishes of the long suffering 6 Counties gaels.

this is all very true.

Definitely a scum element with Meath trying to copy the Dubs. I am sure Loyal2theroyal would agree with that-----

Not a pop just childish someone would make complaints about me wearing my county colours to games and just shows what some poeple are like whinging about something so little .

Dell

Again I'll ask you the simple question of,
What has you wearing a Tyrone jersey in Meath, got to do with a stone been thrown at a bus?

I fail to see a link at all. Are you trying to change the topic of the thread again to include yourself or what?
Are you upset that the incident didnt involve Tyrone & now you feel left out, so instead try to add your own piece to it?
If you have a problem over officials repremanding you over not wearing your correct club colours while on duty within the county, then why not start a seperate thread about that?

What occurred over the weekend was absolutely disgraceful and hopefully the perpetrators will be dealt with in the proper manner, but anyway thats enough about Cavan beating Dublin in the challenge.
The idea that thugs would throw stones at any bus going through Navan or any town is dispicable but unfortunately it is a quite frequent occurance especially when going under flyovers, I can remember the window I was sitting at on a bus getting hit by a stone once when going through Finglas.
Hopefully the Gardaí will catch the thug(s) that threw the stone in Navan but somehow I fear it may not happen.

This was a disgraceful indident and I sincerely hope the culprits are apprehended and handed some summary justice. On a side note it is unfair to presume that the culprits are Meath fans and whether it is intended as a wind up or not I strongly object to Meath people being referred to as s**m, such descriptions are both unnecessary and unfair. Any Dublin person worth his salt will know from interacting with Meath people down through the years that actions such as last Monday are not representative of Meath people in general (if it was a Meath person, and since it occurred in Navan that is no longer a gaurantee) and that such incidents occuring in the county would be condemned strongly. Oh and we don't need the constant reminding about how long it's been since we contested a Leinster or All Ireland final either, it was 2001 for both answers so write it down lads so ye don't have to ask again, all counties go through indifferent periods and we are no different.

This is all a little embarrassing. For the last 10 years Meath have been hammered by all comers but at least we took comfort in the fact we knew how to behave ourselves wheteher we won or lost but now even that little comfort has been taken away from us. We now have to listen to the Dubs chastise us as if butter wouldnt melt in their mouth. There was nothing I enjoyed more than painting all Dubs with the same brush, calling them heroine addicts and joy riders but even that little comfort has been taken away from me by some clown throwing stones

As you say, it was in your own town, somewhere around Clonliffe Road I believe, so the likelihood is that 1 or 2 dubs were about

Breff I live very close to that spot... I'm generally not one for resorting to violence but If I had of spotted that incident while walking to the shops or something... I would have gladly been locked up if it meant taking down a couple of those scum bags! Because that's what those lads are... pure and other scum of the earth. I know them when I see them.. we unfortunately have a few of them ourselves. As I said I'm not one for violence but I'm well capable of resorting to it when it's needed.

I think you know well what Snuff meant... Dublin were not playing when that disgusting incident occured. An incident that was then posted on youtube and you should have read some of the comments from these good for nothing cowardly s**m bags. Those Meath fans involved were cowards... simple as that.

Snuff has listed several incidents involving Meath fans that have revolved around Dublin players/Supporters.. he's not making that stuff up.

Same guff again from you Jinxie... pointing fingers instead of accepting a simple truth. Maeth seems to have a big problem with a certain element of it's supporters.. the same goes for Dublin.

I did state that we have our own scum that attend big games.. its a shame that you cant do the same.

You must have warn out the tip of your finger at this stage....

Theres a big difference jimbo.

Taking a flag down was harmless, it aint gonna hurt anyone. Throwing a bottle, different story my blue friend.

As for you questioning me about pointing these truths out to you, well when dubs set up threads to bash Meath fans over a dub throwing a stone at a dublin bus, its only natural that one will defend his own county & show ye the error of yer ways when portrying the saintly image!

Reality check folks. First of all , yeah the incident was potentially life threatening insofar as the driver may have lost control of the vehicle and caused a fatal accident. Secondly , who ever is responsible for this is a total s**mbag , don't disagree with that. Lastly , I don't think for one second that somewhere beneath the Hill of Tara , the newly formed Meath Ultra's were plotting an assault on the Dublin team bus on the way back from a challenge match in Cavan. This to me seems like a gang of s**mbags , like you find in every large town in Ireland out to cause bother and actually succeeded. I doubt any of them would be able to name a player on the Meath team. I know a lot of Meath people and whilst we may get down to a serious bit of banter when we play against each other , they're sound GAA men and unlike a lot of counties , gracious in victory and defeat.

I'm sure you would have jimbo and I was not denying that anything happened or that it was right. Just pointing out a misnomer in Snuffs post. As one of Irelands great unwashed, I was disappointed when hoganstand greatest ever poster contradicted himself.
