Well, this brings relations between the 2 counties to an all time low. Disgraceful. We werent even playing ye, we just happened to be passing through. Hillstreetblue (Dublin) - Posts: 163 - 05/05/2010 10:19:52 638026 Link 0 |
Its not the first time Meath people have done something so shocking. I think they fancy themselves as some type of "Firm" What is really embarressing is when they try to copy Dublin on the Hill by chanting but yet the Meath fellas do it with English accents. paddyogall (Mayo) - Posts: 5110 - 05/05/2010 10:59:54 638073 Link 0 |
Don't think it had anything to do with football so don't think it should be used to promote bad feelings between fans to be fair! pigonastick (Dublin) - Posts: 487 - 05/05/2010 11:00:49 638075 Link 0 |
From burning our Flag nd posting it on Youtube to throwing stones at our team bus.... It sounds like something that would go on in Turkey when a British soccer team is in town!! jimbodub (Dublin) - Posts: 20763 - 05/05/2010 11:07:42 638083 Link 0 |

Even the Dublin chairman stressed that he believes it wasnt Meath Fans. Jinxie (Meath) - Posts: 6347 - 05/05/2010 11:27:53 638102 Link 0 |
Luckily for Bus Éireann the damage caused to the bus wasn't that serious. squidword (Louth) - Posts: 2897 - 05/05/2010 11:33:08 638107 Link 0 |
I dunno Jinxie, ye werent long sticking the boot into Dubs fans re the Mortimer/Reilly incident....remember......? Despite there being absolutely NO evidence that it was GAA related. just another attack in the Mun by all likleyhood. This incident stinks as Buses are not randomly attacked in Meath, and the one that is just happens to contain ye're sworn enemies. hhhmmmmmmmm Hillstreetblue (Dublin) - Posts: 163 - 05/05/2010 11:34:00 638108 Link 0 |
Ha Paddy I know your a wind up of the highest order but fair play on that one I have heard them at it a few times chanting 'same old Dublin always cheating' in a poxy English accent.....why??? pigonastick (Dublin) - Posts: 487 - 05/05/2010 11:39:01 638119 Link 0 |
It is in no way a refelction on the true Meath supporters... we also have the morons and down right s**m bags that throw things! But Ive never tried to paper over our own problems.. I'd call on all true Meath fans to do the same! jimbodub (Dublin) - Posts: 20763 - 05/05/2010 11:51:53 638133 Link 0 |
dont forget that famous Meath chant of "who are ya who are ya" sung like someone from Hammersmith as opposed to Nobber. Hillstreetblue (Dublin) - Posts: 163 - 05/05/2010 11:53:11 638135 Link 0 |

nothing new in this Tyrone fans including myself were attacked in 95' all the way till Dundalk both Dublin and Meath hoodies I wouldn't call them GAA fans pelted our Bus after the 95 All Ireland thank God for the New Motorway link , Also in 2008 Tyrone Buses carrying fans home were attacked outside Armagh in a Nationalist area so couldn't blame it on a loyalist minority ,I think these people have nothing better to do but cause vandalism because they get a buzz from it. fortyfive (Tyrone) - Posts: 5929 - 05/05/2010 11:59:15 638143 Link 0 |
Nail on head fortyfive. Stoning buses is passtime of neanterthals in too many places and doubt the Navan incident had anything to do with fact that Dublin team were on it. It was dark and they hardly recognised any of the faces! It is massive problem in Dublin from easter to September as ferral children put entire routes off in certain areas because of this. I was on a bus a few years ago when woman received pretty serious face injury. Kids throwing the rocks - half of a small brick in that instance - looked only to be 9/10 years of age :( hurlingdub (Dublin) - Posts: 6978 - 05/05/2010 12:06:15 638153 Link 0 |

I'm from Longford and if Roscommon won an all Ireland and passed through our land I would lead the stone throwing. It's a way at venting your fury. Nobody got hurt. People need to harden up. A few stones never hurt anyone. Football's a mans game. Legan4life (Longford) - Posts: 209 - 05/05/2010 12:35:15 638182 Link 0 |

Just s**mbags that did it, it happens everywhere Dublin, Meath, Derry, Carlow, Kilkenny, Cork (sorry if i missed your county out ;)) and every other county in Ireland. bosch (Derry) - Posts: 873 - 05/05/2010 12:51:09 638210 Link 0 |
A lot of people over reacting about a few kids throwing stones. I doubt they even knew it was the dublin team. This type of thing has happened loads of times in Dublin with kids throwing stones at dublin bus, it has nothing to do with Gaelic fans. I think this whole thing has been blown out of proportion entirely. These people could have been supporters from any county...what are these Dublin fans coming on here suggesting? that each county has inhabitants from it's own county and no outsiders? this is nonsense....I mean it wasn't even confirmed that it was a Meath supporter involved. I compare it with people announcing Gerry Ryans death before the official announcement. Dublin fans showing contempt for Meath fans in this instance DO YOU NOT THINK YOUR JUMPING THE GUN A BIT HERE?
