Pallasgreen missing nine players, tried to get match off within the last fortnight but no cooperation from NCW and co board, fielded many Junior B and young players who tried very hard. NCW will be flattered by result.

It was the County Board who would not call off the game. With S. Kelly playing for Limerick next weekend it was not possible to call it off.
Anyways match was played in very poor conditions, poor game overall. It was allover after 20 min.........

ballybrown, athlacca, glenroe and newcastlewest to come through the quaters... fancy ballybrown or athlacca to do it but glenroe will give them both a good go...

The regulation semi finals will be two very competitive games too. Pallasgreen v Mungret. Kileedy v Tournafulla. Kileedy & Tour are near neighbours and there is years of history between them.I think Tour will win this one as Kileedy could only manage a draw against a very understrength Monagea team last weekend.

It's some fall for Tournafulla, will they drop two grades in two years?

I agree but Kileedy will probally have too much heart for Mungret.

was thinking the same thing, mungret are a young and fragile team and killeedy do have a lot of heart, would love to see killeedy do the business

monaleen will give it to ballybrown, especially after ballybrown dished out a beating to them in the championship last year, with Brian Geary fully focused on club duties and Russell and Collins in good form ballybrown will earn it but will have enough......athlacca should come through ok and i take newcastlewest to beat HH although hospital are improving with each year, they won the U21b last year and are bringing some good young lads through at the moment....the kildimo/glenroe match is harder to call...kildimo won when these two last met a couple of years ago....a lot of lads wouldnt have expected kildimo to come out of their group....they were probably lucky to beat pallasgreen first day out but then should have taken newcastlewest in croagh, match ended up a draw! good win for them on saturday night against knockaderry in conditions that would definitely have suited the westerners better!!

4 to progress are Ballybrown and Athalcca for sure, probably NCW and perhaps Kildimo!!

anyone know which quarter final matches meet in the semi's yet?

i see, well if athlacca and ballybrown avoid each other in the semi's then there is your final!

Im personally tipping Tour to go down. I have witnessed them on a number of occasions and to be honest they only look like a junior team, but to be fair they have lost countless players to long term injury as well as players emigrating to Australia and England.

I see the 1/4 finals going as follows;

Monaleen vs Ballybrown: Alan O Conner and co should be too much for a weak enough Monaleen team who in my opinion depend on Brain Geary and Russel too much.

Dromin/Athlaca vs Monagea: The yo-yo club should have too much for the West team, who did very well to get this far.

Glenroe vs Kildimo: Very hard game to call. If Glenroe can keep Richie McKeogh somewhat quiet they should hav enough to get a win.

Hospital/Herbertstown vs NCW: Yet another difficult game to call. Could go either way but i personally see NCW's strength in depth eg the ability to bring on the likes of Steven Kelly as a sub could prove the decisive factor.

i agree angry beaver, looks like we will have two fairly clear cut quarter finals and two close ones......if ballybrown and athlacca are drawn together in the semi who do you think will win that game....also who might come through from the other side? i think kildimo know that they could beat ncw after their group match, they may find it difficult against glenroe though, then again hh will give ncw a strong test!!

think it would be nice to see a newcomer in the final........

any report pigsear form yer game saturday nite. hear ye hit nearly 20 wides and missed a pen. missed the game cause i was working but went to b game on sunday nite. lots of fellas well worth a look for next year. cantillon full back and corner foward o callaghan were outstanding. best b game i saw in a long time. granagh/b got out of jail with 2 pts in in jury time. knockaderry had chance to level it with a difficult free but it fell short. in fairness it was dowlings first miss all night. 1.14 to 1.15 it finished. wake up call that granagh\b probably needed but have a serious problem with discipline. 10 or 11 of knockaderry scores came from frees. well done to the knockaderry boys ye played with great heart.
