I wouldnt think so.I asked the question the start of the year would they struggle after the fantastic season they had the year before and it now seems that it is catching up with them.I still fancy them to be comfertable as the have somr super hurlers and as a club they seem to be on the up.For relegation I would be looking at 1 or 2 teams in the west.....But its a bit early to call yet.Anything could happen after the LONG break!!

if last friday's night's display was anything to go by then i'd say pretty good.........a shadow of the team that did so well earlier this year. Badly need to take the pressure off Ritchie mcCarthyas he's the the only chance they have of scoring..........vinny herbert was the only other player to show any bit of resistance at all. All others were poor.

Ballybrown must be strong favourites at this stage to win the Intermediate championship after their great start. Here are my predictions for the remaining of the year;

Group 1
Looking very tight at present with Newcastle West and Kildimo both on 3 points and Knockaderry on 2 points. Kildimo and Knockaderry have a winner takes all match in a few weeks with Newcastle West needing a point to guarantee qualification. I predict Newcastle to top the group and Knockaderry to join them in the Quarter final.

Group 2
Glenroue look all set to top this group with two good wins so far. Mungret to join them in the Quarter final if they can overcome a disappointing Blackrock side that promised so much but failed to deliver. Blackrock need a break and get set for championship 2011 whether that will be intermediate or Junior A.

Group 3
Ballybrown have this group wrapped up, too easy for them so far. The fight is on for second spot with Monagea looking good. Killedy will be desperate to avoid relegation and will be dogged in their efforts to get one over on their neighbours and club mates (Monagea and Killedy are joined underage). Killedy to battle Tour in the Relegation semi final

Group 4
Dromin A again should top this group with Monaleen to join them in the Quarter final. This season has not gone well for Tour, the loss of some key players through injury has not helped. I personally think they have enough to avoid relegation.

Knock out stages

QF1 - Newcastle West V Mungret

Semi Final 1 - Newcastle West V Glenroue

QF2 - Glenroue V Knockaderry

Final - Glenroue V Ballybrown (winners)

QF3 - Ballybrown V Monaleen

Semi Final 2 - Ballybrown V Dromin A

QF4-Dromin A V Monagea

Blackrock and Killedy to fight it out in the Relegation final with Blackrock just holding their intermidate status.

Once again we have the experts from the West giving Kildimo no chance. Everyone predicted they'd struggle again this year and be in relegation trouble. Since they've joined the Intermediate ranks they've always won their opening match of the C'Ship and should have beaten NCW well last sunday. Richie McKeogh had a top game despite the persistant roughing up he got. Cian Hayes is coming on in leaps and bounds this year, and they've got pace and strength all over the field. What would they be like with young Griffin and old stalwart Adrian Harte in the mix, Alan Browne has added an extra dimension to their half forward line. Just don't think you should be writing them off so quickly especially with unrest in the Knockaderry camp.

Great post WestOutcast.I have to agree with 90% of what your say.I have to give my own club a chance of winning it but going on the first 2 group matches BB deserve the fav ta even tho they have beaten 2 very poor teams in my opinion. Is that def goin to be the format for the knock out stages?

Easy to say if we had these/those players. All teams are missing players this year due to transfers/travel ect.

As far as I know NCW were missing up to 4 players against ye last week (injury) and have lost numerious players over the past 2-3 seasons with travelling.

Kildimo could very easily beat Knockaderry but I think Knockaderry might move T Condon back to mark Richie M who is a top class intermidate corner forward and Kildimo's main player. Chawlk is also very good for frees.

kildimo havent a hope, poor team and there the same every year since they went up, play 1 r 2 good games and thats it!!
cant wait to see cian hayes come up against a good hurler of the standard of alan o connor or peter russell or someone like that to see how good ye really think he is...
willie griffin made the right choice and more then likely will have a county senior medal at the end of he year and fairplay to him for that!!

Ballybrown going well at the mo deserve to b the favs, but i think after the 1/4s its an open draw 4 the semis r maybe i,m wrong and teams could meet the same team from there group but surly that would be luck of the draw.ballybrown v kildimo this eve n city champ could b worth watching we,ll know how good both teams r then and whos had the handier group.

Monagae and Cill Ide are not joined underage at any level....although in fairness it was a pretty common mistake as Cill Ide do seem to be joined with amost evry other club in West Limerick! Particularly at minor and u21 level.

Monagae and Cill Ide are not joined underage at any level and have not done for a long time now.....

I predict either Ballybrown or Dromin Athlaca to be the main contenders this year....as for relegation its almost impossible to look past Tour and Blackrock. Tour now with both Sheahans missing for the rest of the year, numourous players away travellibg and with vertually no underage talend coming up through the ranks bar maybe one or two look destined for back to back relegation! As for Blackrock, I must agree with WestOutCast that they have failed to breech the pretty huge gap in standerd of hurling between junior A and Intermediate.

shocking display from kildimo, ballybrown started and finished match with 11 juniors and 4 intermediates that started first 2 rounds of championship kildimo were missing john chawke richie mc keogh cian hayes and eoin o brien, their 4 points were all from free's what a gulf in class between these two teams.

Sound sporting jesus ballybrown played 4 of there starting team and kildimo missing 4 there is some diff in class there and kildimo have won and drawn matches in there group wat hope do the other teams have from that group after that.Fair enough u can say kildimo were missing there 2 best players but it takes more than 2 r 3 players 2 win a championship.
