Best club players not in county squad

Wouldn't have Bonner of Kelly anywhere near the panel. Sends wrong message to other players... I see someone mentioned Colin Gallagher. Great player, but needs to really show his worth this year and Downings playing Junior Championship won't help his cause.

Seimi Friel is always mentioned, but he's getting too old at this stage, his time has past. I'd like to see that young Peter McGee lad in the panel, I think he could give us something.

Mark McGowan is a class act and I'd like to see him get a chance too....

Adrian Sweeney was a great inter county footballer for Donegal sadly his best days at that level are well past him ,still a vital cog for Declan Bonners charges at club level. As for The Brick good young lad but way to much expected from him still has it all to do at this level but lets give him a chance

Ah come on Spoons 2010 theres no need to be getting smart, dragging ex-county men into it, these men served their county with pride and distinction, leave them alone. From your previous posts, everyone knows you're a fanatical Gweedore man, that's typical of Gweedore, wanting to kick Dungloe any chance youse get.

Audi man what i said was just tongue and cheek in response to someone who claimed Eddie should be back in the squad never was it my intentions to ridicule either of the other 2 lads one of whom i rate as the best forward i have ever seen in my time watching Donegal. So lighten up and take my comment for what it was.As for myself being a Gweedore fanatic as you called it i certainly aint i am actually from a neighbouring parish and aligned to no club i just happen to watch an awful lot of football and in doing so believe Jim does not have the cream of our countys talent in his squad namely Bonner Kelly and MC Gee and to me that shows a weakness in Jim as a manager clean slates should have applied across the board . Once again at the moment he is doing grand so hopefully its me thats proved wrong and i have to eat humble pie and proclaim Jim as a genius only time will tell Down for Ulster and Gweedore for Donegal

david mccarron would be a name to look out for as he is the best player ever to play hurling.

Spoons2010 Ive heard they were asked and they turned their noses up at it. Dont know if its true or not but im sure McGuinness would have relsihed tryin to get the best out of them two. But he cant drag them to training. honestly your posts are some of the worst Ive seen on here and that's saying something...

You are being pretty harsh there on the manager. Colin Kelly doesn't want to play county football, you can't blame Mc Guinness for that. Eamon Mc Gee was given a chance before the season started. Not sure what the story is with Ciaran Bonner. Maybe he can't commit. He's from the same club as the county captain so its hard to believe that he hasn't been discussed already. I do predict though that Bonner will be the best club player in Donegal this year.

hello Murt I dont believe i was any way harsh on Jim who i have always stated is the right man i believe for the job its just my personal opinon about the exclusion of certain players. You say C Kelly did not wish to play county football sure did Raff not say the same .C Bonner was never asked on to the new managers panel .When did Mc Gee get his so called chance last Sept i presume you must be meaning sure there was no county panel in existance then . In my view and its for the final time that i shall say it Jim never gave everyone a fair crack at it no clean slate was ever given to all but only time will tell Murt.

Look at the bigger picture spoons.

The reason we're going great guns at the minute is precisely because we got rid of the dead wood who weren't prepared to commit to playing inter county football. Good footballers in their own right but have contributed nothing positive to county teams in the past so why should anything be different now.

Leave them where they are - we have a committed panel of players now who want to give their all for Donegal. Why try to fix something that aint broken and if we were in need of fixing something why try to fix it with broken parts that didnt work in the past.....

Spoons

Around last October/November Mc Guinness had a team meeting with the players he wanted for his panel and told them what he expected from them. Eamon Mc Gee was at that meeting so Mc Guinness obviously was giving him a chance. Something happened after that meeting to make Mc Guinness not want Mc Gee in his plans. I'll take your word on it that Ciaran Bonner wasn't asked.
