Any thoughts anyone?
There are a few i heard of Moling Morrisey, Willie Walsh or Paddy Quirke from myshall, Id say he was the best overall.

My uncle always speaks about his tough run-ins with a man called Willie Eustace of Naomh Eoin?
What was this guy like as a player does anyone know?

While spending time with Myshall people through family connections i have never heard of Willie Eustace being particularly talented in above mentioned context. He was a senior player who played on a physically strong Myshall team. Dont remember ever hearing of him playing inter county hurling or football. His dedication to Naomh Eoin is well known still attending a lot of matches to this day. He served as club chairman for over twenty years. The wisdom of any individual spending so long in one position is questionable and co insided with a staleness and deteriorating team spirit within the club.I believe he was in favour of allowing players from outside parish boundries play for Naomh Eoin in the last few years. He is a senior selector this year as part of the new management team. He was awarded with a life time achievement award for his dedication to the GAA.He is still very close to some members of the Naomh Eoin Gaa club.

Galway played Carlow in an all ireland Q Final when I was a young lad and to this day I can remember a Mullins lad scoring freely. Probably only game I ever saw Carlow playing live but thats my input...

Paddy Quirke not even a debate here. Thread should be who is Carlow's second greatest all time hurler, now that would be spicy.

getonwithit would have to agree with u 100 per cent should be looking for second best hurler paddy quirke was by far the best at both hurling and football and none of the present day hurlers would come near and that no disrespect to them and as for willy eustace was and still is a great club man but his hurling was limited mick slye was a serious hurler at quirkes time as well he had buckets of skill and a great free taker but still would say quirke mullins nevin

Boss I agree with you . I too have come around to that conclusion, there is no point in ignoring the obvious and that is we are not good enough. Now I dont know if Walsh has already been approached and has declined the offer but if he hasnt then we need to go after him and fast. He played for Fenagh against tinryland on sun. and apparently he was only going at half pace but still made a huge contribution. Saw on Wicklow board that someone thinks he may be going in to Carlow. Anyone hear anything about that?

May be a bias there alright from canam but sure what about it guru. He is right on all counts. Nevin is a bit of a hero too esp when you consider his dual status and longevity. Didnt look too shabby in the county final two years ago either. Is he togging out this year?
