Agreed anglo should have been let go bust but as much as we do not like it we need the banks.... all that banking boards should be prosecuted for fruad in not regulating banks properly If the banks aren't supported then we go bankrupted massive cuts needed in public sector then.
Public sector's growth was also fueled by the banks and construction indirectly remember. The real recession started in 2001 after the dot.com bubble burst but the government and banks fueled a false economy based on construction and we all went along for the ride, yet some of use are not happy to come back down to earth, if they lost their jobs they'd hit ground fairly fast but that's not going to happen either.
It may come to that the way things are going liamo.
Also i asked you a question earlier. "I distingly remember on an earlier thread that you said you were ok with taking the paid cut as it had to be done and everyone should get on with it, why the change of heart now. "
I was away today most of the day Hag. And I am ok with it and voted no to strike. But I still don't like seeing EVERYONE in the PS being treated with the disdain that only a minority deserve. To many private sector workers they see all PS workers as one and the same, and thats so far wrong its unbelievable. Its like if Jimmy had 2 pounds and Joey had 11 pounds and.......ah **** it!!! You know what i mean!!
The average of public sector workers is €50598. An amazing amount of money for what are basically administration jobs. No real stress, no real responsibility. tenish to fivish every day Long lunches. Not having a boss on your case all the time looking for cost savings etc. My god you dont realise how lucky you have it. I worked in the public secor. The Co Co to be precise i've seen it all.

599615 The corrupt Public sector such as the Dublin docklands Authority caused the mess we are in. The Government (Public sector) The Regulators (Public sector) the Planners (Public sector) caused the mess we are in. I hope the Public secot hang their head in shame. _____________ I blame their education. If they all had PHDs from MIT or MSC's in engineering from some place in Scotland none of this would have occured.
Were you in my class in Scotland? _________________________ Unlikely I fall into your unambitious category in that I do not have a university degree or even an RTC/IT certificate/diploma and due to an allergic condition I have had to stop licking stamps.

You sit there smugly criticisng the public sector and inefficiency etc and you work for a semi state that got pay increases late last year and are not exactly renowned for customer service or efficiency. And you job is as secure as any PS in reality and you're pension conditions are much better than the Private Sector. But then a more or less monopolous situation is a great thing. You have it every way. Some neck lad.

I can't confirm this, but I'd say no CPSU member will ever earn that public sector average wage. Yet all the highly-educated private sector workers are incapable of comprehendingthis as it simply does not suit their bitter ways. The private sector seems to be all about easy targets.

Bit rich to quote salary averages - €73m for 900 staff plus €14.7m to an Employee share fund - €100k a head for what is in effect a distribution network and a call centre
But is that not peoples arguement against the private sector on this forum is grouping the whole private sector in banking saying the private sector caused this. I havn't generalised that much but you can disagree there are major area's of inneficiency with the public sector and these should be combatted yet unions and public sectopr workers hold back this in opposing reform and redundencies.
