Paul Griffin to miss rest of 2010 season.

Yes no doubting Cahills consistency but think you's have been very dismissive of Griffens contributions on this tread. Obviously underrated based on previous comments here

592845 barry cahill is still there though , i feel he has been very consistant too

I always thought that Barry Cahill would've been a better choice for Captain than Griffin.

Sometimes I wonder about some of my fellow Dubs!

Of course he'll be badly missed he's our captain ffs! His leadership on and off the pitch has been invaluable. He's an intelligent footballer and a great man marker, and reading most of these comments he's actually underrated!

I think us Dubs love to see half backs that burst forward and shoot for wonder points/goals.... which inevitably leave gaping holes btw.

Yes he has the D4 accent which people like to slag off but it's a genuine Dublin accent, unlike these horrific accents put on by country folk (particularly the women) when they move to the southside of Dublin.

Have a quick and speedy recovery Paul, you will be sorely missed.

Would it not be more appropriate to just wish him the best with his recovery from a season-ending injury without passing comments on whether he's overrated or not?
The Dublin fans here would want to take a good look at themselves.

Exactly, this was the whole premise of my thread, and I havent been disappointed, even the prospect of losing their County captain does not seem to garner as much sympathy as I would have expected from a supposedly fanatical and loyal fan base.

it shouldn't matter a damn thing whether he is good player or a great player.it shouldn't matter a damn thing if he is under-rated or over-rated.it shouldn't matter a damn thing if he talks with a posh d4 accent or a flat inner-city accent..he is an inter-county player and a fellow gael...and i want to wish him all the best in his recovery and hope that it isn't to long before we see him in a dublin jersey again..All the best Paul Griffin.

Tragic for the GAA to be honest what has happened Paul Griffin as it would be for any footballer. I know that he isnt the greatest footballer in the world, hes an average intercounty guy and he does talk a bit like he bats for the other side however....
He is a great amabassator for the GAA in this country and he would appeal to the middle and upper class in Dublin who would traditionaly be rugby people. I believe he could really help Dublin GAA make inroads into this section of Irish demographics upon which rugby has a stranglehold at present

No tomaoo thats for later on in the season! Just cut the guy some slack and give him a boost rather questioning his ability at this low point in his career.
