Bernard Brogan is the best forward in Ireland and he will punish the rebels. A Dublin win by a few points.

ah now come on , Bernard Brogan is classy on his day , but to say he is the best in the country is a bit OTT , especially when you look at some of the other excellant forwards out there

i agree with liamo, we're serious underdogs for this one, cork should of easily beat tyrone and you'd have to expect a backlash for saturday night. i hope people are not getting carried away with our start to the league and go off the rails if we lose heavily on saturday night. we're showing great spirit at the moment with lads coming in putting in their all to prove themselves.whether this will stand to us come june is another story...the intensity and fitness of other teams will rise then and things will be different...still its a great test and if we do come out with our heads above the water we could have a league final to look forward to.

still for now, that train fare to cork is my biggest worry...i hope they give out a six pack and free lunch for those prices....up the dubs.

Can't see either team winning by a big margin. Dublin have the momentum and haven't allowed themselves to get too bothered by 'hoodoos' in the league so far. Cork playing at home and under lights will be hard to beat. I'd have a slight fancy for our lads taking the pints on offer especially after being beaten by Tyrone last week.

I just don't think that they're the same team they were last year (yet anyway) - midfield in particular isn't functioning well - Pearse is doing fine when in the middle but Alan O'Connor has yet to find form and Nicholas was cleaned out by Michael Quirke against the neighbours. The forwards are doing better with Goulding showing outstanding form to date. Donncha was rediscovering some of his form of old too but the red card rules him out. Kerrigan going well in spurts and Paddy Kelly has been excellent. Colm O'Neill too when he's played. There's questions about Shields in FB and the continued absence of Canty and Lynch gives an unsettled look to the defence. Definitely a work in progress and the Dubs will test them on that basis.

Cork by a handful of points but wouldn't put the farm on it.

Dub lads and lassies -regarding dampening expectations I'd suggest getting on the blower to our neighbours to the west for a few tips about media management! Max Clifford wouldn't get a look in!

I expect Cork to win this as they look the best side in the country on current form.

if dublin can defend like they have done so far against cork on saturday i think it will be a very close encounter

I've expected Dublin to lose every game so far and this one is no exception. Obviously I've been wrong about all four games but I'm certain we'll lose to Cork.

I'm not totally convinced by the 'progress' being made by this team. I think we're in for a long few years of rebuilding yet. They could ship a big score in Cork.

of corse it will be a long few years of rebuilding but 4 wins from 4 is a perfect start performances dont matter , its about fitness and finding formulae and getting ideas and gameplans right for the championship , its going to be a long tedious few years for dublin football , but winning games (it doesnt matter how ye do it once you do) is all that matters , the progress is clear in fairness we have conceeded the less out of all the teams in division one with a whole new back line .. that can only be a good thing but its not anything to get carried away over , i dont think cork will hammer us

Cork should win this one. For all the positives that have come out of the league so far, I'm still not entirely convinced by Dublins new midfield. Although Fennell has impressed, I'd be wary of his fitness. McConnell is not the answer for a Whelan or Ryan replacement for me and I would worry about his ability against anyone of O'Connor, Murphy or O'Neill in Corks midfield which is all about power and pace. Dublin's defensive record has been excellent so far but I think now that we're in the middle of the league and a few players have started to find their range, the forwards that Cork possess could cause real problems.
Dublins defensive style will cause the Cork forwards hardship but it will mean that Dublins options going forward could be limited. If Bernard Brogan is kept quiet I think Dublin will struggle to keep up with Cork. On the plus side, I'm looking forward to seeing the likes of McCauley, O'Sullivan, O'Connell and McMennamon get a real tough test and hopefully answer some tough questions about whether they're ready to make the step up
Win or lose, I don't care. I'm looking forward to heading down for a good game

Dublin are flying but just reckon the the rebels home advantage will see them over the line by a point. Should be a right good game.

Cork by 4 or 5 I reckon. Best team in the country IMO. Decent footballers and a forest of giants. Dubs to be brought back down to earth here but still fancy our chances of making the final.

Up the Dubs!

I think you're right there Tom, we've cemented div1 status for next season and to expect a rookie side to beat AI contenders is a bit much - especially at this time of the year....for the last few years the championship campaign starts now!

Unfortunately Dublin's chances are slim , and thats exaggeratin them. Dont give them a prayer although I will definitely be rootin for them. Love to see Cork pinned back a bit further after the Tyrone defeat. Gives the other teams an outside chance of makin the finals along with the Dubs.

It was strange a few weeks to here Cork selector Ger O'Sullivan talking about surviving in this league. Maybe he was playing the cute h**r (we need to be more like our Kerry brethren). I think Cork must try and win this league. It would be true measure of the confidence of the team if we can win it (after the disappointment of last September). I think we have progressed along way under Counihan, to say that we are bitterly disappointed after losing away to Tyrone is something in itself as it is not long ago since we struggled in Division 2 of the league, now we feel we should be beating the best sides in the country on a regular basis.

Tomorrow should be a hell of a game with two sides that are playing quite well. I think the fact that Cork are at home is a big plus. I hope we can win as we are, hopefully, on the road to redemption; tomorrow's game is another step. My heart says Cork 100%. My head hopes my heart is right.

weve beaten kerry and mayo away , we can beat cork , wether we do or not is another thing all together , but i believe we can if we show the same sort of hunger , discipline and determination that we have in the league so far
