St Galls - congratulations

There may be a few Ulsterman, but they are more to be pitied. The particular one from Armagh, and he is one, is just an embarrassment to our county.

It wasn't a great game but Gall's just wanted it won after 2006 when they didn't perform. This is their centenary year and no one can begrudge them their success but no doubt some (from Armagh & Louth) will. They are a class side but didn't show how good they can be today. I hope the Gall's players get back on to the county side and push us towards promotion to Divison 2. Brilliant boost for Gaelic games in Antrim and Belfast especially. I also hope some of our rural cousins in Ulster lose the anti-Belfast chip now and stop having a go at Gaels in the city.

perhaps i'm missing something from previous in regard to some louth posters comments but let me say that all genuine louth gaa supporters would be delighted for antrim and the success of st. galls. it goes to show with unity, dedication and hard work anything is possible. they are a credit to their club, community & familys. i only hope it would inspire other club from smaller counties like ourselves to drive on and have some belief.
i look forward to our counties meeting in the league when hopefully we'll both have won our next round and set up a cracker of a match .
once again well done St Galls and hard luck killmurry.

ps i know some of the posters on this set up with louth user names are complete spanners but i'm sure sensible football people could pick them out and just ignore their comments !

Well done St Galls. Hey was that lad injury that was brought off after 10 mins for kilmurray or was it a political thing in the club to bring him out.

Great result for St Galls yesterday - congrats to everyone at the club for doing the GAA in Antrim proud. Well done to Ballyhale as well. The games and atmosphere were a bit flat yesterday as neither winner was in doubt from early on really but you can only beat what is in front of you.

Also, the Sligo U21s beating Galway (minor All-Ireland winners 3 years ago) in the Connacht semi-final deserves a mention.

Still coat trailing on the success of others I see

People keep asking me why you left Man United to work in the Civil service.

Maybe Edwin Poots was right, it is the benign management?

As normally adept as I am at seeing through your cryptic thoughts, I am unable to understand the relationship between Man Utd, my job and my initial post

A great win for a great team and club, any club who are able to win the All Ireland deserve to win it. I have to admit I was supporting KI but only because they were from a small country area as opposed to the superpower of St Galls but I was delighted to see St Galls winning and I hope they enjoy every minute of their success.

Congradulations to St. Gall's. Belfast & Antrim is the new hotbed of Gaelic Football.

Was there a big crowd at Croke yesterday for the games?

Obviously the old saying in the NICS "promoted in line with their incompetence" must be true.

Look at the "coat trailing on the success of OTHERS" comment.

Now think about it.

At least I played for Rossa.

I must be really incompetent as SO now appears on the horizon

Your comparison is incorrect. You have previously identified that your club is an Antrim town team, not Loughguile, Rossa or St Galls yet you spout about dominance. I do understand that for whatever reason you appear to have "latched" on to a number of different clubs throughout the years. It is much like me using Cookstowns success as a measure of Tyrone's dominance. They are not my club and although I'm happy for them it means very little to me personally. I have only ever supported Man Utd and only speak of their success, not other clubs, although by this time you could possibly have been a member of all Antrim clubs given your propensity to be all things to all men.

Alas, I did not play for Man Utd, but I did play against them!!

Nooooo.

I played for Pearses, Eire óg, Gael Ulaidh, Sarsfields, Rossa and St Comgall's Antrim.

Hence my statement "at least I played for Rossa" which struck me as rather rudimentary English.

Rossa are the "family" club, but being perverse I did not join them until 1976.

Why not just admit a bit of jealousy.

Antrim now join Galway and Cork as the only counties to have won club titles at all three field sports.

Antrim have had 3 different sides contesting 6 club camogie finals, 4 different clubs contesting 7 hurling finals, and 2 clubs in 3 football finals.

And someone called Antrim a "weak" county?

Do not dismiss the camogie too quickly as that is the ONLY final Tyrone have been in, thanks to the splendid efforts of Eglish.

I never mentioned camogie!! Perverse is probably the most apt description I have heard yet. Not in the church sense you understand

Well you couldn't, I had already snookered you on that one.

I like "perverse".

Well done to St. Galls. Clearly the better team on the day & worthy winners. Hard luck to the Quilty boys but they never settled on the day & seemed overawed by the occasion.
