It is not the lad that was the object of this conduct or indeed the Derry team that require an apology here but the county of Tyrone and all their great supporters who must surely be embarrassed by this fool. And the kids that he set this awful example to. If a manager is seen to do this without fear of reprimand what does a young player think he can get away with.

Derryman,i have been going to Tyrone games for a very long time and i can assure you that i neither need or want an apology for what happened the other night. As i previously posted, the man was wrong to do what he did but its no hanging offence. You are going way over the top on this one.
But thank you anyway for speaking on the behalf of the county of Tyrone and all their great supporters...

I did'nt see the water incident but saw the Derry footballer go for the Tyrone official in an automatic red card offence. The derry footballer then goaded the crowd when he was only given a yellow card. The Derry player should certainly be suspended for a month as should the Tyrone waterboy if this did happen. Derry has little moral high ground to take giving the play acting that took place over the last half. The referee was forced to play 5 minutes inury time due to derry play acting. Players lay apparantly near fatally injured on the ground only for the referee to play on and for the injuries as if by miracle to disappear. I wish Derry well in the championship but don't know if they know what it takes to win an all-ireland. That sort of play acting can only get you so far. Derry were deserving victors and indeed could have won by more, but my memories will be of a dour game created and destroyed by Derrys antics. It was not untypical of the type opf fare served up at Celtic park last year by Derry/Monaghan in the senior championship which was so widely condemmed buy the national media. There must be a Derry footballing manual which takes the joy out of football at all levels.

Good lord lads are there no Mirrors in Tyrone. Would you all go back and look at a few past matches with some of your great stars in them. Can you not see the difference in a non playing member of the panel getting involved with an U21 and the garbage you are dragging up as a pretext for defence. If I was a Tyrone supporter I would be cringing reading your Posts

imitating Mulligan in the 03 AI Final when he hit Paul Hearty with the water bottle and got away with it, is that the reason tyrone Seniors etc have not played a mach in Crossmaglen since that date.

Please ignore the rants of Sam02,trust me the other Armagh Gaels on this site do.
Personally I think it was childish and immature of a mentor squirting water over a player, but if this is the height of unsavoury incidents in our game, well then I think I can live with that.

I think the reason we haven't played in Crossmaglen since would be because Armagh have been in a lower division for much of that time.

Orange and Blue you have a poor memory, Armagh were in Div one in 2003/2004 and won the Nat League in 2005, but for the 2003/2004 league campaign, it must be remembered that following pressure from Tyrone, re Div one being top heavy with good teams, Armagh and Galway were moved to Div 1B thus saving the Thronies the trip to Crossmaglen in 2004, as we played them in Omagh in 'March 03.
Always remember how the Tyrone players that day went to the bottom corner of the field prior to Armaghs arrival on the pitch, and became the only County not to give the ALL IRELAND CHAMPIONS a gaurd of Honour.

The fall of two counties, late to the top table was inevitable but sad to witness none the less.

When the real order assers itself in Ulster and Cavan (this year) regain top spot you will realise that water japes is of little interest, you need to focus on football and coaching in schools etc not squirty mentors that's why you are plummeting back to the bottom .

Does anyone know where the next round (Derry v Fermanagh) is? I know it's on Wednesday night (24th), but not sure if it's home or away.
Looking forward to it, decent Derry team, if only ...
