Bad week for Tyrone football, Tuesday we had the worst scenes imaginable at a Colleges match between HolyTrinity Cookstown( again) and St Mals Castlewellan, then Wed night we had the scenes at the U.21 match with Derry, all conduct filtering down through from the Tyrone Senior team of this p[ast few weeks, and only happens when they are getting beaten. Worst GAA supporters on the Island of Ireland.

Tyrone 'fans' who couldn't even be bothered going to the game aren't really in a position to comment here. I was at the game but didn't see the incident myself but heard some talk about it. It was a petty, immature thing to do and obviously shouldn't have happened. I'm sure that it is regretted now

585822 I felt embarrassed last night to see a supposed mature adult and a member of the Tyrone management team squirt a water bottle on a Derry player. His actions at best were ill thought and at worst grossly unsporting. I do hope that some action is taken against him and/or the tyrone county board issue an apology for his conduct.

Iwould be interested to hear your take on the Derry player's reaction which i would also class as unsporting behaviour.
I do agree that the manager was out of order but to be looking for an apology from the co. board is being a tad overreactive.

The lad certainly overreacted and was lucky not to be red carded for his reaction. However this was an indication of his understandable immaturity but would have only reinforced the injustice of the whole incident given that the manager as you call him instigated the matter and will hide in his anonymity. The reason I have raised this was simply in the hope that if he does not read it himself hopefully his friends and even his children will and bring the shame to him that he desrves.

I saw the water squirting incident and felt that it was an immature action by someone who should know better. The fact the the player the water was aimed at was from the neighbouring parish of Ballinderry is a setback to cross border relations. What was embarrassing though was the manner in which our corner forward fell to the ground during the incident, If anything it gave Derry the motivation to go on and win the game. Good luck to Derry in the U21 all ireland series.

It is not the lad that was the object of this conduct or indeed the Derry team that require an apology here but the county of Tyrone and all their great supporters who must surely be embarrassed by this fool. And the kids that he set this awful example to. If a manager is seen to do this without fear of reprimand what does a young player think he can get away with.

Good Lord whats this, a tad of controversy in Ulster football, I thought it was only incidents involving Paul Galvin that drew such fulsome comments, you wouldnt see him squirting water.

There is a slight irony in Derry supporters complaining about unsporting behaviour. One of their own mentors gave the linesman a fair amount of foul language during the game. There is also the issue of the constant breaking up of play by feigning injury by the Derry team, possibly the worst I have ever seen at that level.
