The draw is bring made tonight, who are peoples fancies for the year ahead, i dont think boden will come near to winning it again, crokes will be favs with plunketts then you will have ballymun, vincents, judes, boden, davis, brigids and maybe syls.
If st judes and thomas davis had 3 or 4 outsiders like the rest of them they would have a good chance of winning it but since they dont i cant see them winning it but might cause a few upsets.

I think there is something a lot more satisfying for the clubs like tomas davis and judes doing well.
Having a team full of home grown players get to a county final is very satistying.

not sure the same could be said of a team full of Mercenaries.

But these days the clubs do need one or two outsiders, but you would rather have some lads who came to join the club to play not just inticed there with offers of jobs.

After considering the opinions of many avid football fans in the county on this website and through many heated discussions with close friends in the loop in Dublin football I think the situation in clubs is getting out of hand. It seems all the top clubs in Dublin are availing of outside transfers which seem to be pushing out prospective candidates for senior club positions and consequently Dublin panels. This isn't just the high profile cases in Vins, Crokes and more recently Parnells but one of the teams i follow more closely in Dublin, Ballymun Kickhams.

agree with you there eoin, ballymun had 5 lads that were not from there club that started championship last year, with 2 on the bench, so that is 7 in there panel.

crokes only have 2 that start
vins have 3/4
plunketts had 7 last year that started
parnells will have definitely 6 that will start this year

parnells were nearly relagated from senior a few years ago, then they brought in a few past it intercounty players like rooney and parkinson, begley and tierney are very good but even with those players they are still an average side, so know surprise when trinity gaels beat them who are a very tough parish side who neber give up with some very good footballers like dean kelly, brendan o brien, graham dillion
