568162 If you're referring to Arteta omaghredhand, he was fairly anonymous today. Hasn't been anywhere near his usual standard since returning from his serious injury.

He was ok as far as I could see, but as I am sure you understand Nocky, its not just what he does on the pitch. It has been a huge boost for Everton that he has returned recentky and although it will take him a while to get back to his best I believe that it is not a coincidence that they have started to get themselves together since he returned. I remember a certain man come on in an All Ireland final, unfit and not doing a particularly great amount but the mere presence helped his team over the line
_________

Everton won 4/5 games, drawing the other away to Arsenal before Arteta got back omaghredhand. Unless you count the 16minutes he got when they were cruising 2-0 up against Sunderland.

Yeah well done Everton. No complaints and no disappointment when you're been by a hard-working skillful team who simply played better.

I see Patrique is suitably flustered by this thread. It doesn't fit with his bitter deluded viewpoint. Awwww no threads on City :( No one cares Awww

Scoring that goal will mean Rodwell will leave Everton this summer. Ironic isn't it. Probably raised his price by 2mill also. United played poorly. Fair play Everton.

Everton are the best side in Liverpool...bad run of injuries this year is what has kept them below Liverpool FC in the table...

All Players fit, Everton are still the "next best" team in the premiership
City Spurs Villa etc are all close but Everton have been there done it the last 5 years, only Spurs have been close to them for "next best"
And to be honest, had they had a fit squad or even approaching a fit squad all year, they would have 4th sorted now. I firmly believe that. They have been absolutely crucified with injuries this year
Howard, Baines, Jags, Distin, Heitinga, Arteta, Cahill, Neville, Piennar, Fellaini, Saha That team fit and well, with subs like Yakubu, Bilyadetinov, Rodwell, Donovan, Yobo. Add to that a manager like Moyes. 38-40,000 every home game, legendary stadium. And all this on a budget a tenth of most teams around them...
Not too shabby!!!

I'd have Yobo ahead of Distin every day of the week!! A liability!!

And with all this talk about Rooney and how the toffees have cooled their anger and how grateful Utd are to have him... where's all the gratitude for King Louis and Captain Fantastic???

Aw great value alright. Madrid are still laughing at 30 mil for Robinho too. Great bit of business by Citeh alright!!

Paying big money for 'big' players doesnt make you a big team. Isnt that right Patrique?

Any team/fans that worship Duncan Ferguson should not be respected.

Yobo is class 90% of the time Breff, but so often in big games he makes one big mistake that is punished. He is a great servant and an Everton legend but too many errors at this stage.
Distin is decent. Also prone to errors but his all round game is excellent. superb Tekkers :)

Hibbert on the other hand ius woeful and Osman aswell. They both bleed blue, and will run all day for you and Ossie scores a goal or two but they are very poor footballers, and Hibbert is an embarrassment at times. The man can literally not pass a ball more than 5 yards!
Rodwell will most likely play CB next year. That will be interesting. A young Rio. But as I said, 25m for any player these days, and i will bite yer hand off.

I know man... I remember you saying that before! I'm only having a giggle... seriously though for a forward how many goals did he actually score for Everton.

I know he was inside for a bit... maybe during his best years! But seriously he had a poor record didint he..? and record in the sense of scoring goals ;)

Liamwalkinstown 24/02/2010 15:04 Everton Fans on HS Seems to be a large Evertonian Contingent on here lads Great to see :) I know Woops is a fellow Toffee, and Shinners is a toffee. There was a Meath man whose name escapes me now I was talking to recently on here another Evertonian and a few lads from the North also. I do know a good few Evertonians. I would think that after the big 5 Man U, Pool, Arsenal, Celtic and Arsenal that Everton would be the next most supported team in the Republic of Ireland. Incl NI and Rangers of course come into it. I know there are many Chelsea "fans" in Ireland too but 90% of those never heard of Pat Nevin and Kerry Dixon! Villa Citeh and Spurs are not short of fans. Leeds too. But I would think Everton would be higher. Liverpool would have the most amount of fans in ROI of the 25-35 bracket, but younger and older than that seem to be United in the majority. Celtic of course have huge support but a huge percentage of that is as a "second team" and are only fleeting fans I'd say a good share of lads you see in Celtic jerseys in Ireland couldnt tell you who the current captain is. Ever since McManus left I couldnt tell you myself. Loovens? Brown?

i dont see to much everton support around. 1 of my friends support them but thats all i know off. liverpool would be the biggest supported team in ireland along with united and celtic. then would come arsenal and unfortunately chelsea. leeds fans in ireland are a dying breed but they would come next. a team overlooked who actually are beginning to get a lot of support in ireland would be barcelona. i would actually put them ahead of leeds. then villa, everton and spurs

Alas it does if you look at my new thread.

Hull's great success last year has nearly bankrupted them, and Bolton, Blackburn, West ham, Portsmouth, and all the rest are paying a heavy price for their success as well.

If buying success is not checked, in about two years City will be untouchable.

Not much joy to be taken from that.

Well, if you had an interest in sport at any rate.
