Incidents in Cork-Kerry match

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

If players are going to be banned after games are finished and the refs have dealt with any issues on the field then the CCCCC'S should arrange to video every match that is played in every divsion and not just the the games televised by the different tv stations. As for the sendings off this weekend,Galvin and Cadogan should have got a yellow, had it been anyone other than Galvin then it would not have been red.Noel galvin did not deserve the first yellow but the second was justified. If you recall, Declan O Sullivan was on a yellow as well but the ref just ticked him for a second offence later in the game when he also could have walked.Joe Mc Mahon did not deserve to go either, the game was over and he just pushed the Mayo player.Referees have alot of answering to do ,alot of them don't seem to be up to the job. What is wrong in calling the two captains together and warning them of their teams conduct. The powers that be are not allowing for these new rules to settle in and this seems to be causing a bit of hassle among the players as well.I would say to both refs involved over the weekend to now stand up and recind the red cards they gave to Galvin,Cadogan and McMahon.

That's why I'm glad derry very rarely get far in the championship we would be accused of ruining it! But we will just leave it to tyrone to take all the blame its kinda not fair to blame a team for things that other teams do to as well!

Lads I'm just making the point that you will always get jeering at these games from some "supporters" I don't think its a poor reflection on Cork, I'm fairly sure I'v heard Meath fans at it too. Saying we should be devoid of success because of it is just being silly. Aside as far as I'm concerned Paul Galvin deserves every bit of the reputation he has earned over the years, It should not influence the refs decisions but inevitably it does.

Passerby, the people who you say handed out the punishment to the derry and Tyrone players are none other than the same people who send Kerry players off in nearly every game they ref:-

i.e. Pat McEnaney.

The Ulster referee reversed his yellow card decisions and instead applied the Red Card to the 3 players. There is an automatic 4 week ban for a red card. That's all. Nothing strange. Maybe you should bring this up with Pat McEnaney rather than the CCC or any other authorities within the GAA.

Personally I think that we should all be happy that the likes of Pat McEnaney are now finally dishing the same punishment out to all teams.

KennellyAirways:

Very good post. I am so sick of people trying to blame tyrone for destroying the game when it is clear for all to see that they have only added to the specticale of gaelic games. yet obivously no one will comment on your post and or actually say to themselves 'right enough, tyrone actually do score an awful lot during their games'. they will instead just close their eyes and tell themselves that football is just played great in their part of the country and that we can blame all our problems on those dam nordies, and repeat the lazy pundits of a so called professional!

Dellboy, Mcenaney changed his view on the incidents and advised teh CCCC that a red card would have been the right punishment. Therefore a 28 day ban minimum.

What gets me is that it is always the same people from the same counties year in year out moaning and complaining. The injustice always happens to players from their own county alone and never to any others. Open your eyes.

He did not advise the CCC so get your facts correct the ccc asked him did he think he called it wrong he said yes and they banned them but last year the refs that both booked ricey and tommy said they where happy with there yellows but the ccc still banned them both . And maybe you should open your eyes because kerry players should be banned after sat nite.

Ciarrai Abu- it was hardly handbags in the cork-kerry game. Once again Galvin was shown up to be a nasty wee man. The fishhook tactic that can be clearly seen on the video is disgusting, worse than mcmenamins bang to the privates last year. And some commentators have passed it off as a yellow card offence. also Galvin has a history of the fish hook tactic- just ask Colm mc Cullagh (league 07 in tralee) whereby he puts his fingers in the opposing players mouth & rips their face around. I think its about time the media brought this individual to task- this is something we dont want to see in our games. Tough man me arse.

Ahh...... that is what I would call advise. In fact I would advise you to take advice from a dictionary on the meaning of the word advise. Pat Mcenaney, when asked if he would rethink his position, advised that a red card should have been the punishment for the players involved. Therefore a 28 day ban.

Now Galvin will get his 28 day ban whether he deserves it or not. Probably does. Donaghy if he gets a red from CCCC will also get 28 days. Fair enough, as it should be, and I dont care if they are the only 2 banned throughout the year. If they deserve it then they deserve it. Hopefully the CCCC will look at all incidents. They should definitely look at mass brawls that take place on the sidelines no matter how benign or harmless a mass brawl it is !! But these bring our game into disrepute.

We can always appeal if we disagree. As Tyrone and Derry can do. It turns out Mickey Harte is not going to appeal. Maybe he agrees with the punishment.

Now as I said Mcenaney has been reffing Kerry games to the letter of the law for the last 6 years. Good stuff, well done Pat as everyone says. Now I am happy to see him carrying this out in other games and I hope he continues whether it is Limerick and Antrim or Tyrine and Derry.

kennelly airways excellent post....and benny bunny thank you...you have restored my faith in your fellow county men down there after some of the rubbish posted on this thread...why is it that some people think when cork and kerry knock five lumps out of each other then it's only handbags, and when tyrone and derry do the same, its a disgrace to our national game, the likes of cusack and croke are turning in their graves, and our childrens eyes meneed to be averted from the telly...it's time to wise up...the disciplinary process is arbitrarary, most refs are completely incompetent, and the national media are just waiting for their next moral panic...oh by the way no mention of any suspensions yet..sure maybe the ccc will wait until cork and kerry pick their teams before the matches on friday 2 weeks..yeah that's be the thing to do..

Your point Dell? I think I have already agreed that he has got what he deserved. What more do you want? Other than to continue on complaining and moaning for thousands of posts.
