Colour of Seating in McHale Park?

(Oldest Posts First)

Watched the Mayo---Galway game on tv last Sunday and have to say was very impressed with the new look McHale Park, Castlebar. But a question to Mayo posters out there. Why in Gods name did your County Board select a type of sky blue colour for your seating? Surely a selection of green and red seats and included within a design of say MAYO or the Irish version would have been much more apt.

Not sure about this but i think i heard something like the blue seats they used are the best for not fading so they dont have to be replaced as often, the same as the ones in croke park. Im open to correction

They say its to do with cost, red seats would fade too easy and have to be replaced. I reckon its because the county board like the seats matching their ----.

i think it would be better if they just put the seats green and the painted steps red.

Yo listen up: here's a story
About a little guy
That lives in a blue world
And all day and all night and everything he sees is
Just blue like him inside and outside
Blue his house with a blue little window
And a blue Corvette and everything is blue for him
And himself and everybody around
'Cause he aint got nobody to listen: ...
I'm blue (da ba dee)
I'm blue (da ba dee)
I'm blue (da ba dee)
I'm blue (da ba dee)
I have a blue house with a blue window
Blue is the color of all that I wear
Blue are the streets and all the trees are too
I have a girlfriend and she is so blue
Blue are the people here that walk around
Blue like my Corvette it's standing outside
Blue are the words I say and what I think
Blue are the feeling that live inside me
I'm blue (da ba dee)
I'm blue (da ba dee)
I have a blue house with a blue window
Blue is the color of all that I wear
Blue are the streets and all the trees are too
I have a girlfriend and she is so blue
Blue are the people here that walk around
Blue like my Corvette it's standing outside
Blue are the words I say and what I think

Yeah blue is a bit strange alright, I don't like the blue seating in Croker either, green would be much better. Fine new stand in McHale Park but isnt it a pity to spend so much money and still have pillars, albeit slim ones, but pillars all the same. Great pity a cantivelier roof could not have been erected similar to O'Connor Park in Tullamore then it really would be top notch. Still its a fine structure and a credit to all hard working Gaels in Mayo.

Yeah it's stupid. Can't imagine it would cost more for green and or red seats. Preferably green. Mayo County Board at their best
