pinkpanther, well where did you hear it ??? Or is it just something that you decided to make up for your own amusement. We wont know if Hanlon will be manager next year until we have our AGM, he may not even want the job. As for this year he done an excellent job. moonshine (UK) - Posts: 297 - 09/12/2010 18:19:35 830436 Link 0 |
It was a man from birmingham but being honest I don't know how reliable or what he actually knows, but I was just stating what i HEARD, thought a forum like this would be the place to ask these questions. I am not disrespecting Hanlon, done a splendid job moonshine, hopefully he takes it again, a good club man, I was just stating what I heard, I moved over last year and have not really got associated with a club, I like to watch football, Im not interested in the managerial or administrative end of things if Im honest, purely a spectator me, i know my limits, have you any roles within Macs Moonshine?? pinkpanther (Monaghan) - Posts: 37 - 10/12/2010 09:06:33 830594 Link 0 |
Maybe Hanlon is coming HOME back to the Braghs, remember big family connection and he played his football for the Braghs in his younger days. Erdo (UK) - Posts: 8 - 10/12/2010 16:50:17 830938 Link 0 |

pinkpanther, yes i have quite a few roles within the club and have so for along time. If you have no club yourself why dont you get in touch with us and you may change you mind about being purely a spectator. Hanlon is a well respected member of the club for all his time, effort and committment in everything that he does. moonshine (UK) - Posts: 297 - 10/12/2010 18:56:15 831043 Link 0 |

I go to different games around the country moonshine, i go to mostly warwickshire though, i enjoy going to different games on different sunday. Quality is hard to judge, the better players would get onto alot of teams back home but the worst players on each side probably would not get on a B side back home, individually some quality players in the county and physically its a harder game out here. Some acts taken place on a field here should not be seen on a gaa field and I dont like that element, I am all for hard football but the line is often crossed. Overall games are enjoyable to watch and players like hayden, friel, mulligan and o connor would grace alot of teams in ireland pinkpanther (Monaghan) - Posts: 37 - 14/12/2010 08:36:18 832447 Link 0 |
i wouldnt like to see this happening in warwickshire, but wouldnt suprise me if macs main rivals resorted to off the ball tactics to give themselves a chance of competing. Its the only way any other team will win anything. HowstheHorse (UK) - Posts: 81 - 14/12/2010 12:29:34 832557 Link 0 |
pinkpanther, where have you seen any bad acts taking place this year ?? because i have seen a lot of football in the county this year and cant recall any match that you could regard as dirty. moonshine (UK) - Posts: 297 - 14/12/2010 20:19:02 833048 Link 0 |
HowstheHorse, it would be alrite dragging out a few lumps as you put but you would want to make sure that they can play a bit of football as well to beat Macs. moonshine (UK) - Posts: 297 - 14/12/2010 20:21:01 833050 Link 0 |
Seen a few acts, i do know it happens in every county in ireland but having played a bit of football unfortunately i dont think it occurs as regularly as over here. As I say I am all for hard football but the important thing is hard but fair and unfortunately alot of the antics are not, im not going downthe route of starting to blame who worst culprits are but there are few actions that took place that dont have a place on a gaa field, you aint stupid or blind moonshine so please dont act innocent. One of the things with the gaa is i think players treat each other with respect, once this doesnt happen I do feel the line is crossed. pinkpanther (Monaghan) - Posts: 37 - 15/12/2010 08:47:08 833165 Link 0 |
Ah sure who cares about a bit of rough stuff, fellas are big enough to dish it back if needs be, no point in moaning about it. As moonshine might say, "it's not basketball you're playing!" dowchabiy (UK) - Posts: 204 - 15/12/2010 21:15:06 833677 Link 0 |
Well said dowchabiy! Too many over here complaining a few hard hits! BAck in SSSSligo the bucks hit hard and there is nobody on crying! Its a man's game where there is plenty of hard hitting PinKpanter but maybe you prefer the softer feminine approach?? Real_Hardybuck (Sligo) - Posts: 12 - 16/12/2010 12:36:44 833850 Link 0 |
I didnt come on here to get into mickey mouse slanging matches with anyone, everyone here knows what is happening. If people are to idiotic to admit it or want to be too macho to pretend its normal then I aint wasting my time here. May I add that my main reason for not joining a club over here is there are too many clueless people involved in the association over here, this message board just confirms that point, easier to watch games without allegiance to anyone. pinkpanther (Monaghan) - Posts: 37 - 16/12/2010 12:50:07 833862 Link 0 |
