Warwickshire 2010

Micheal Hayden has played great it nearly every game this year- well done to him, I hear Keith Sweeney played an absolute blinder tho- I hear he is tipped as Warwickshire captain next year after his performance yesterday???
Well done macs, beating a very good side, without many 1st team regulars.

macs desreved thier win over barnabas , it was clear that barnabas havent had a game in 4 or 5 weeks and were well off the pace for the entire 1st half.
Agreed michael hayden was pulling the strings for macs yesterday and put in another good shift for the men in green , barnabas must be gutted , i think if this game was played 4 or 5 weeks ago then it would have been a closer contest , and possibley the league title could have been going to Nottingham.
The ref had to go to the sideline to get a biro as his own biro ran out of ink with all the names he took down , 5 sent off as well and i think only 1 of those was justified , poor performance from the ref , the first barnabs guy to go must be gutted , it was just a challange on the guy and he got a straight red , hayden went from telling the ref what he though of him and to be honest i think everybody aggreed with hayden.

Macs have one game left- (v four masters I think?) If they win macs win the league, if they lose then Barnabus win the league.

Mitchells and Marys were left to sort out the intermediate fixtures before they actually played their game on Sunday. How many each have played, won, lost, remain etc etc… What a gas situation to have in the middle of November! Roll on 2011...

St barnabas look to be ending the season without getting their hands on a league or championship title, such a promising season to finish so poorly, would i be right in saying they picked up one point out of a possible last 8 (2xcasements, egb and macs). That won't win any league titles, guess the pressure got to them, hadnt the steel to close the season out!!! Pity

Pinkpanther , im not sure why you put this post up about Barnabas , you are right with your stats and im sure the lads here in Nottingham are well aware of that , but Barnabas have had a good season , the club has continued on from the progress made last year and they are already looking forward to next year, they were flying at the start of the season right the way up until the championship final , granted they didnt perform that well aginst casements home & away , but they got a good point down at EGB and played a macs team in thier final league game who have been training for an all britain final.
The Barnabas camp is a good one with good people involved and it is also a growing club on and off the field .We are very satisfied with 2010 and people like yourselve wont bother us with your futile posts on Hoganstand.
We have noted our mistakes this year and i can assure you that we will learn from them in the years ahead.
We dont expect instant sucess and we are prepared to wait and build a good strong club over the next 3 to 5 years learning every year and trying to improve all the time.
I also think that we wernt that far away from bringing some senior silverware back to Nottingham in this years county final and i said above will will learn from that game and be a better team for it in the long run.
Its not all about trophies and glory up here in Nottingham its more to do with building a really strong club , having Gaelic games available to the kids up here in Nottingham and having a bit of craic as well.
The trophies will come to those who put the effort in and we are one of those clubs , hopefully it wont be long before St Barnabas lift a senior championship again.
Congrats again to Sean Macs on their acheivements this year , i do think we gave them a couple of good games and im sure they will agree with me on that.
Pinkpanther can i ask what club you are from ? you have been watching us closely through the season , maybe you are a liitle closer to the Barnabas team than you make out ?

Carracastle if you think that is futility then you live in a very gentle world, I merely stated a fact. I did not mean to disrespect barnabas but to go from sitting unbeaten in the league and heading for a championship final to ending with neither must be a blow that is all. I admit in the build up to the county final this board was cluttered with barnabas boys acting under stupid names but they hadn't the brains to hide it better. That did get on my nerves a little because i felt these boys should be concentrating more on activities on the field instead of off it as i did want to see barnabas winning. Everyone loves an underdog.
Please dont be mistaken, what barnabas done this year was a massive achievement, i do respect the great work being done in nottingham by the boys up there. Im living in warwickshire this last 2years but have retired from playing football, I go to many games, more than alot of actual players I would say and I would like to see gaelic games over here reaching the next tier. I have not gave allegiance to any club. Im a football follower, i dont need to be a member of any club.

Carracastle- you seem to be getting your knickers in a bit of a twist!! Ur mans right- must be disappointing this season- lots of promise but no end product, no trophies of significance (league or c'ship).
Just to let everyone aware- Macs beat Barnabus on sunday with no substitutes, 5 18 year olds and without the majority of the all Ibritain final squad- whereas Barnabus could have fielded 2 teams the amount of players out there. It was disappointing that, considering it was your league final, you didn't give us more of a game.

Result was just as predicted. No way can a team be expected to put it up to a side who have been training for an all britain. My only surprise is that the winning margin wasn't bigger. all will agree it wasn't a true reflection on the year just gone. Great year for Warwickshire football with the county providing ann All Britain finalist, and the re-emergence of another club as a real force.

Roll on 2011.

No way can a team be expected to put it up to a team in the all britiain final-thats your response 'intheno'. Why did you's bother turning up?? Don't give me something about barnabas always fulfilling fixtures etc but i cant believe that is your excuse. If you took to the field with that attitude it is a surprise you were not beaten by more. Awful statement that!! I do not believe it was fitness or sharpness that beat StB, they were not at the races from the 1st minute, them attributes arent essential then. More like hitting a mental block or lacking steel as i said to carracastle a few days ago.

pinkpanther why all the aggression towards Barnabas , you are telling us stuff we know about how our season has finished as i said before we are delighted with our progress but dissapointed that we didnt finish the season with some silverware , but i would think that is the case with everyother team in the senior league except for macs. your are getting a bit personal there against the players on about steel and determination and seeing the season out , we have all those qualities and more , but Macs beat us yto the championship by 2 points and it looks like they will also pip us to the league, however we will deal with that and move on , it seems to be grinding on you more than us , come out from behind your username and let us know your name , you might be familiar to us here in Nottingham.

Tonymontana , again congrats on you win against us last sunday , as you said you won the game with a few minors involved as well , well done on a great season to you and the macs camp, we will worry about our own club and you concentrate on yours .

You come out from behind your username carracastle, ive said nothing to be ashamed of as have you. If you want to reveal identities you lead by example my friend. If barnabas's end of position annoys me more than it annoys the club itself then again we may have got to the bottom of the problem. A sense of achievement possibly at finishing 2nd?? All goals were achieved?? I tell it as i see it carracastle and i felt there was a lack of steel and backbone to close out a promising season, if you want us to come on this and tell lies we can do that

i wouldnt worry about Barnabus, they seem to have everything in the right place and will be strong contenders for all trophies next year. The macs lads seem a bit like Alex Ferguson not happy because a rival club are catching them up. I still think macs are the best in the county, but we all read about their tactics in the Irish Post..!

Casements had a fairly stong end to the year & no doubt four masters will be stronger next year too. EGB & JM seem like the mid-table clubs who will be strong & competative but never really a threat to macs or StB for the championship. Marys must be a long price.

Mitchels should have put Barnabas to bed in the championship in truth, gave them a hell of a fright with a depleted team. Dont see how you can call Mitchels and EGb mid-table teams, at full strength they are up there at the top of this county.
