Lethal I don't know whether to laugh or cry at your postings. They seem so negative at times but i'm sure you do mean well. In this case I can't help but agree with your last one. How Warkwickshire can fix games for the day of the villa blues derby is astonding. I believe this happened earlier in the year and caused all sorts of problems and walkovers.

If your claim is true that there are people with no experience at club level on the board then the clubs have only themselves to blame for allowing this to happen. I hope Lethal that you will be putting yourself forward at convention to help rectify the problem or do you merely wish to use this forum for your emotional out pourings?

EGB called it off. no real suprise there, maybe if Coventry City ever made the premier league they would understand what a derby is all about.

Warwickshire gaelic football the victim again in all this.

Mitchells called off the Inter game v Marys in the Mulligan Cup, does anyone know if the Leicester v Brendans semi went ahead or did this not take place either?

Any games actually take place this weekend??

Macs didnt travel to Nottingham. would appear they wanted to watch the Blues-Villa game instead of playing gaelic football. Maybe Barnabas should refuse to travel to Birmingham whenever Forest are playing. anyway Barnabas got the game. I hear Mitchells beat Casements in the league

Howsthehorse - not sure what being in the premier league has got to do with 'Knowing what a derby is all about', but even if it did we have a fair bit of experience about it. Not sure what all the fuss is about with the brum derby though - guaranteed snore draw

I'm sure Barnabas will be more than happy with the walk over as it means they have won the league by my reckoning. Absoloute farce if that is the case - what a joke!

They haven't won the league that was fr forde game yesterday....anyway if it was the league it would be the only walkover barnabas have got as their the only team to fulfill ALL fixtures

lots of those lads would from the teams that did not field yesterday would have purchased tickets (£45 a piece if you are a Blues fan) weeks / months in advance. You cant notify teams of a game on the Tues/Weds and expect them to cancel everything, and lose money, to play in a game on the Sunday.

Furthermore, it should be remembered that the vast majority of the lads playing over here are English born. Blues v Villa games are a big deal to many of the youngsters who throughout the year in all conditions give their best for their clubs. A bit of consideration would not go amiss from those on the top table.

Who exactly is the fuxtures secretary?? I'd love to see him try and get a team out to play a cup game in November

Lethal,
It is a very good point you make with regards lads purchasing tickets well in advance and also the fact that allot of lads playing are English born so these games are a big deal to them.
As always you have allot of narrow minded people on this blog who in all fairness spout out allot of nonsense just to get a rise out of people. These people are also the ones who probably do rock all for their own clubs too, just do allot of mouthing... but never get their own hands dirty!
With regards fixtures etc...its not only in Warwickshire that there is a problem, its all over the country, London included.
From what I know there is already ongoing talks happening for next years fixtures...i.e league / champ structure , dates etc, so hopefully next year will be more successful across all the divisions

hman - i only meant that Coventrys biggest rivals are probably the birmingham based teams, so they will never really understand how much it means attending those big derby games.

anyhow - the only ppl at fault are the ppl doing the fixtures, not the lads going to the soccer.

not been playing that long, but im sure everything should really be wrapped up by this stage of the year anyway.. all barr a couple of cups maybe?

Fixtures for this weekend:

Sat 6 Nov;
JFK Semi-Final Sean McDermotts v Erin Go Bragh 3.30 pm

Sun 7 Nov;
SHL Fullen Gaels v Erin Go Bragh 1.30pm

IFL St Brendans v John Mitchels 2p.m

SHL John Mitchels v Yorkshire Gaels 2.45pm

JFK Semi-Final St Marys v Naomh Padraig 3.30pm

I wonder how many of these games will actually take place this weekend. It's also great to see that hurling is now a winter sport.

Lethal,
Who has confirmed these fixtures?
The JFK is a junior cup. St Marys v Naomh Padraig is this Sunday but is the final of the Mulligan cup...?
Also, IFL St Brendan's v John Mitchell's... the only game left in the intermediate league is between Marys and Mitchells.

Lethal,

Where did these fixtures come from??

Nice to see the fixtures guy on th ball putting St Marys and Noamh Padraig, both inter clubs , down for what i belive is a junior cup?? Think that should read the Mulligan Cup Final!

League games still being played at Inter as well, anyone at those other clubs involved got any idea of a table for it, the inter and junior one have never appeared on the warwickshire website all year!

They are according to the Irish Post. I thought the same thing regarding the JFK Cup. It appears that nobody has a clue what is going on!!

So shall there be free sundays for every old firm game them, this is a much bigger derby than blues v villa?
Or for the nottingham lads then, free sundays for forest v derby? Or the Coventry lads for Cov v Leicester?
Back to my point are we playing gaelic football in this county or does soccer come first?

Could we start a competition each week where you have to guess the correct result in each match, whether the match will be played and indeed has the match already been played but someone forgot. Im going for only one match on in the park this Sunday.
