Speaking as a paying spectator could someone explain why a final is played on one pitch at HQ while another match is played on the adjoining pitch at the same time? Last Sunday Macs and O'Rahillys played in the JFC final and at the same time Marys and Finbarrs played in the IFC semi-final. Is it not fair that all finalists be afforded some respect and made the centre of attention and that spectators be given a run for their money? My neck is sore from craning back and forth trying to look at the action on both pitches. This coming Sunday sees the IFC final between Mitchels and Marys at 2.30pm, while a senior football league match between Macs and Casements has been fixed for 2pm. Another match is fixed for 4pm. Why couldn't the final be played at 3pm? Barmbrack_Obama (Meath) - Posts: 9 - 14/10/2010 18:19:05 796783 Link 0 |
They only want your money at the gate, they don't care about providing value for it or affording respect to those participating. Im more worried about the number of games still outstanding, looks like we'll be into December again this year lads. Lethal (Derry) - Posts: 281 - 14/10/2010 19:56:52 796868 Link 0 |
Predictions for the weekend: Marys by 2 points and Macs by 5. How is training going for the all britain Michelle? Intelinside (UK) - Posts: 64 - 15/10/2010 11:39:55 797130 Link 0 |
Not sure how Casements can be playing Macs again. Sure they got the points already, on the website, 2 games left to play against Mitchells and FM??? thesilentone (UK) - Posts: 146 - 15/10/2010 14:58:47 797304 Link 0 |
thesilentone, the reason that Macs & RC are playing this weekend is because this game has never been played this season, it was due to be played sometime in july on a saturday evening, RC informed Macs that they were unable to play the game, rather than Macs take the points they agreed for the match to be rearranged. moonshine (UK) - Posts: 297 - 15/10/2010 18:47:51 797472 Link 0 |

Bigfella, I cant remember Casements having many walkovers, I am welcome to be duly corrected? I'm not really interested in the story of the why's and wherefores, all I know is the league table shows points awarded to Casements. Bad sportsmanship, haha, that makes me chuckle. The irony of that comment coming from a Macs man, how are all the imports doing these days!!! thesilentone (UK) - Posts: 146 - 15/10/2010 21:23:19 797563 Link 0 |

should be a good game tomara between macs & casements , i believe if casements win then they will pick up the league trophy , we will see tomara what they are made of , if they can topple the county champions , they shoildnt really need any more motivation for the game than that alone , i think they alos feel hard done by in the county semi , playin with half a team , so they have an oppurtunity now to even things up a small bit , im expecting a very hard tough game and i think macs will have to much for them all over the pitch , alos congrats to macs juniors u got to hand it to that club they get the results and they are gettin stronger & stronger every year, looks like we will have 7 senior teams next year if marys go up , i think then that there will be a massive gulf between the senior & inter unless a team gets relegated evry season from next yera on , there needs to be a promoted club and a relegated club every season . knowle (Roscommon) - Posts: 82 - 16/10/2010 08:38:36 797596 Link 0 |
silentone, get over your c`ship loss and lets see how good ye are tomorrow, i think its two walk overs you have already had this season, games should be won on the pitch not in the clubhouse on a monday night. moonshine (UK) - Posts: 297 - 16/10/2010 21:00:14 797958 Link 0 |

I was told there was a mistake by the fixture secretary and as RC had already been given a walkover for the game earlier in the year it should never of been fixed. Mick83 (Wicklow) - Posts: 67 - 17/10/2010 20:10:46 798265 Link 0 |

yeah i heard Casements didnt show so Macs got the points. so if Barnabas beat Macs in Nottingham the league will go up to Nottingham, though when that game will be played is anyones guess. Best of luck to Macs in the All Britain next Sun, reckon they have a good chance of turning Edinburgh over andquick (UK) - Posts: 60 - 17/10/2010 20:12:30 798269 Link 0 |
