very hard to pick a team of the year as most teams only play strongest teams in champ and we dont all get to see these games. My stab would be

1. Tierney (SMC)- Didnt play alot this year but look good in championship
2. Barry Sharkey (JM) - half back really but looked good all year so deserved a place
3. Corr (RC) - did a couple of good marking jobs on french this year
4. Blonde corner back St B - kept Hayden quiet in final, very strong
5. Dooley (SMC) - solid half back
6. Jarlath (St B) - very good on the ball and uses it well
7. M.Hayden (SMC) - dictated the game in the final from half back- looks a good position for him.
8. N. O'Connor (SMC) - Made the difference in champ for macs - good fielder and free taking won the day
9. S Mulligan (SMC)- Monaghan county player and class showed through
10. D. Harkin (FM) one of the best young forwards in County kept fM scoring on his own most of year
11. ST Barnabus centre forward (St B) - good strong year.
12. M. Bergin (RC) - done most of casements scoring all year and reason they have done well in league, off day in semi though
13. Kelleher (JM) - good forward
14. French (St B) - class all year bit of an off day on final but on his day untouchable
15. Macca (EGB) - from what i saw of EGB this year was always best performer and will always score.

Some unlucky to miss out would be Riordan (SMC) who looked good all year, Friel (EGB), McCullogh (RC)and new Kerry lad for Macs but only saw him twice but looks a talent.

Didnt see much of Go Bragh this year so they may have deserved more.

Unusaul to be picking a team without Bennett in it but looked off the pace in the final this year and have never seen him so quiet in a game.

Watched the county final very enjoyable game amazed by some of the comments macs have now won 5 in row and still we have people on here telling everyone how bad they are.I watched the semifinals the two winning sides head and shoulders above the rest.Where do the rest go iam not sure e.g.b trained all winter took the summer off casements want to watch pop concerts mitchels started well full of promise lost in the championship packed up four masters got the county final last year thats it now for another 20years.What would macs do if they lost the championship they wouldnt rest till they got it back maybe thats whats wrong with everyone else NO COMMITMENT.

I saw Marys refused to play extra-time against Finbarrs!! Finbarrs looked to have the beating of them at the end of the second half.

Your obviously from St Mary's Antrim. I hear your pushing for the walk over now as well. Sums you up really. Well by getting to the county final now you have to go senior even if you dont win, god help you next year because you aint no St Barnanas. At least when you look back on 2010 you will have fond memories of your walk over championship success.

I only mentioned the Marys game as there were suggestions of them going senior next year, so was suprised seeing Finbarrs get the better of them and then the refusual to play extra time. And now they are trying to get a walk-over??

There were also previous complaints that they didnt play enough games?! Confused.com

How did Finbars get the better of us, last time i looked the game was a draw??

We decided not to play extra time, so what of it? If you can point it out in the rules that we had to fair enough.
Maybe one of the reasons we wanted a replay was to get another game as we havent had any this year, that was our first competitive game in 2 months which im sure it probably was for Finbars as well.

As for 'St Marys are going senior' talk , maybe we will maybe we wont, who knows. All i will say if we do go senior its not because 'we can do a St Barnabus' , far from it. Its because the Inter League is a joke and there is no point it being there. Would rather get hammered by senior teams than train twice a week to get the Sunday morning call "saying game off boys......other team cant field"

As for pushing for a walkover how exactly?? Both clubs said after the game we would play next weekend , originally we said we would play next Saturday when both teams 'should' be free as thats when the final was due as its stood in the fixtures since the beginning of the year.
Finbars 5 minutes later said they would rather Sunday , we said ok, whats the problem??

If you are a Finbars man, which i probably suspect you are , then look forward to another good game on Sunday. It was a good tight game last week as the scoreline suggest and much needed for our club anyway.
I would suggest though if you are a Finbars man the words 'fixtures' and 'fulfilling' probably mean very little to you anyway..........i cant help but smile at the irony!
