andquick, half of that crowd you are on about are actually cousins of the dowlings that play for macs, and from what i can gather they were cheering for macs.

mulliganeamon, thanks for your help as regards macs and their website, your computer would definatley have suffered burnout if you were to type everything out that they have won.

Macs play the winners of Golucester and Scotland game i think. Should be Dunedin again i would imagine, apparently the game is to be played in Newcastle. Hopefully Macs will give the lads who won the Warks championship the chance to play in the provincial series.

On Sunday at 3.15 McCann names the team,
But come 5 o'clock lies a shattered dream.
It feels our season's finished, blown away,
But we hope still to have our say.

The Gods are angry. Its been 21 years.
Too long by far. The tears….the tears.
The September sunshine feels ironic
To have been so close and lose feels chronic.

But the lads can hold their heads despite the hurt
Mulhern, Marray, Morgan......all proud and immense in a Barnabas shirt
O'Hara, Friel and French in despair
Of these proud lads we really care

From one to thirty they gave their all
They played their hearts out, the supporters enthralled
For we will live to fight another day
The maroon and white of St.Barnabas is here to stay

Get 'andquick' a tissue there, sitting wiritng his song as he plays the violin, if barnabas boys spent bit less time perfecting their poetry and more time perfecting their football skills they might be county champions now, maybe they were concentrating on poetry instead of the game!! Get over it, you's werent good enough on the day, never win a game of football playing for half an hour, you didnt have the mental strength to finish they game out. You may have the quality within your team to win the title but mental strength is as important a trait as quality and unfortunately barnabas were sorely lacking!!!!

Go on the 'pinkpanther'. Some boy! Some bunch of lads them barnabus one's. I've heard the story about the aftermath, must have more craic than any other club in the county. Love their facebook page as well, good banter!

pinkpanther - we are over it. i merely posted this to reflect how all the squad and club felt on Sunday evening which was a true reflection of the mood in the camp. There is no harping on about the ref or missed chances etc. if you read my previous posts you will see i was playing down our chances in the run up to the final. Macs were better in the second half and deserved to win, simple as. I also wanted to show that there is a very strong cultural streak running through the Barnabas camp and we like to express ourselves through song, poetry, written word, dance, etc. There are many more dimensions to the GAA than winning football matches and although we were gutted to lose on Sun we are proud to have made such strides this year and made many new friends and build our links in the community. For anyone new to the East Midlands area this is a fantastic club to join and we will be challenging next year and we still have a league title to challenge for this year. Onwards and upwards.....

the all star teams that have been posted on here in recent days are awful to say the least!!! first and foremost bennett he played 1 and a half games in championship this year and the full game was last week and he didnt get a sniff of the ball for the hour so that should count him out, secondly who is the gilbride player corner bk for macs never seen him play all year and finally hardly no casement players in the teams...

reading all these posts since last weeks game, finally Macs get a bit of credit for being the good club that they are from most of you, but not everyone.

I thought it was a very good game played in excellent sporting manner, very tough, physical battle and some good football played which is a credit to both teams. A bit of talk about Barnabus missed chances which may have won them the game but as i have said before if you dont take these chances you wont win games, scores win games. That is not having a go at French who i myself fully excepted to score, but fair play to Tierney who made an excellent stop. French has had an excellent season but sunday wasnt one of his best, but i am sure he will be back again.

On another note i would like to congratulate Barnabus for the excellent season they have had so far, in being an intermediate club last year and coming very close to being county champions. They are still in the running for the league and Fr.Forde. As i have said before they have put the other so called big clubs in the county to shame, by applying themselves correctly and they wont be to far away from winning c`ships in the next few years.

Well, what can i say about my own club, county champions again. It seems to get harder every year but fair play to the panel of lads and the backroom team who have had a few ups and downs this year, but it only makes us stronger as a club and more determined to win every game. Hopefully we can go on and give a good account of ourselves in the all britain. You never know we may even have the support of more people from within the county.

With that team Macs will struggle in the All Britain. Hopefully they dont fly a load of lads over this time though, better to give the lads who won the championship a chance

lethal, quit the jealousy and try to win something in warwickshire, all you can do is to try and slag Macs down. Concentrate on your own game and your own club and you might actually win something. Bitterness will get you nowhere.

Congrats to Macs on 5 in a row! there in a different class to the rest of the clubs in warwickshire! Looking at the posts for the 'all stars' team would like to say m.hayden was quality in the final has my shout for player of the season... also french is a top player he's took alot of stick on her even though the keeper made a top save in the county final. the barnabas player marking the other hayden deserves a shout aswell he neutralised one of macs best forwards he didn't get a sniff all game.
