RE - Marys in Senior League - Its not fair them not playing matches but lads we have to be serious, marys getting beat by 20 points every week will do nothing for them and they wouldnt be training at much then with morale so low!! Something needs to change at intermediate but bringing them into senior is crazy.

Casements emailed the county board after the defeat to mitchells as it then looked likely we would be meeting macs if we beat masters, so six weeks notice before the game!!!. At a county board meeting casements agreed to macs changing and encouraged it as it would be unfair playing with half a team away. How were club members at the meeting to know lads had a wedding in ireland on the day macs said they could play. Casements management only felt the need to say they couldnt play that date once it became a possibility and still gave six weeks notice. Casements are willing to play any other date before that weekend or after but Macs refuse too. Scared. Good luck in final St B at least u earned it!

even if they have to go back to this wedding, i still dont quite understand the problem. surely they can arrange to get flights back in time for the game and just stay off the beer. i mean you dont HAVE to drink at a wedding, sure it probably makes it more enjoyable but its not a written rule that everyone has to get completely wrecked. i mean do they want to go on the beer or have a serious tilt at a championship title. i agree totally that Macs should not be to blame for this situation and are totally within their rights to refuse to move the game but i do think that Casements with a full team out would probably beat them. thats just my opinion

Seriously for the sake of the game Casements need to field as strong a team as possible. If this means lads taking it easy at wedding then so be it. What matters more?

first and fore their is alot of dribble being talked on this page firstly by eddie hanlon(moonshine) mitchells missing four players in their semi, well if they had them they might of drew saying they were beat by 4... secondly could macs not bring the game foward by a week to accomadate casements afterall they only asked for the first weekend free???i also think macs are scared, they are a very average team without all their summer 'BLOW INS', i would fancy casements to beat them by 3.... moving on to the casements situation if you want to win a championship u have to make sacrafices, and if they want to win bad enough these boys wont go to this wedding..again on the wedding talk is it a player getting married? if not they shouldnt even be asking to get it off..

Rule 6.188. Unless it is a team mate getting married no Gaelic Footballer should leave the country to attend a wedding of friend or family on a re arranged semi final date.
Rule 6.189. If they do attend, no matter how many players are missing the game must proceed.

I love the rule book.

Teams and people have made concessions for Macs in past. Time for a bit off leeway from them for once

From not the so magical mitchels club, what blow ins did we have last year and comfortably beat casements by 10 or 11 at the same stage of the competition. Everyone chirping up about macs should do this and that we finalised the date with our players months ago and will stand by that date. Casements are a very poor outfit and would struggle to beat us if they had the last decade of a squad to pick from.

about this semi-final between Macs & RC, everyone seems to be missing the point here, the reason RC did not object to the game being played on the 29th august is because of their over confidence, when seeing their own c`ship group they honestly believed that they would top the group easily beating JM & FM, and that they would being playing on the first sunday in august,

tommyg, how long have you been around the county ????? Not very long it would seem, as the county semi-finals were always played on bank holiday w`end, and it was never a problem, it has only changed from this in the last two years.

Once again why should Macs agree to change the game ???? We have lads on holiday the week before & after the game.

And as for these comments about Macs being scared, we fear no one.

Hopefully when all this nonsense dies down we can look forward to a good, clean, hard hitting game of football. See you on the 29th.

moonshine how could we be over confident on what date we would play! We could have topped the group and still played on 29th if you came second. It was not decided until the last game, if go bragh had beaten you then we would have been playing barnabus as group winners. The only team who definetely knew they were playing on the 29th was Macs and you could plan for this from early on.

Speak to the board harold, warwickshire have a bye in the first round of club championship so who ever wins final wont play in that til 31 Oct. So that is plenty of time to find a date for a semi and a final and we have offered to play any date but macs know we are screwed on 29th! Even speaking to ST B they wouldnt mind putting final back. Its Macs making sure they get the walkover.

Flights are expensive and we have players booked to fly in on the fri and back on the monday and again for the final thats the reason we are not moving the dates so get over it and play on 29th or we will see ya next year. And before every one pipes up typical macs they have all transfered in!!! Up The MACS!!!!!

macsfor6 u would need to get your fith title before u start talking about your 6th, big fall awaits you in semi or final either way!!!!macsfor5 no not a mitchells man, i believe eddie hanlon got is car clamped waiting at the arrival lounge in birmingham aiport wonder what that was for!!!!
p.s. i honestly dont care who use have transfered in either if that monaghan lad is anything to go by, because use will be beat in semi if casements field or if they dont field it will be even better to see use fall in the final...
