536681 ah sure what harm is the angelus doin really?!?! & its not even religious anymore, not a big picture of mary or whatever, its only a minute to reflect on the day lads!

Ah yeah Leitrim would be very traditional and in favour of the Angelus. As your man above says just change the effin channel.

The Football Show on UTV catering for Irish League soccer presented by Adrian Logan was terrible - Up here it was referred to as End to End for prods!

What is that supposed to mean?
Personally I see no reason why the Angelus should be on the TV. Now I do not have any religous beliefs whatsoever but I fail to see how some people would be offended by it regardless of their beliefs.
In conclusion I could not care less about the angelus or whether RTE continue to show it or not.

Have to say that the All-Ireland Choir competition, in which one of our own posters featured, was very good !!!!!!!!!!

Just to clear things up, I'm not "offended" by the Angelus (although it does annoy me) and didn't want to turn this thread into a religious debate - I only included it in my original list for a laugh - but at the same time I don't think our national broadcaster should play a Catholic message (which is what the Angelus is) before the main evening news.

The "it gives everyone time to reflect on the day" argument is rubbish, people don't need one minute of banging sounds to "reflect on the day", one minute of silence would be better! At a time when RTÉ is losing E1,000's every day I would prefer they replace this relic of 1950s Ireland with an ad break.

Can't agree with calling Ardal O'Hanlon a great comedian. He was brilliant as Dougal, and by all accounts was a very good stand-up before that. But have you seen any of his live shows in the last 5 or 6 years? He's shockingly bad. Resorts to singing "My Lovely Horse" or doing Dougal lines when a joke bombs (which is every two or three minutes. He's at the top end of the price-range for stand-ups, and is not worth a penny of it.

Seriosly that All Ireland Talentless Show has to be the worst show ever created. I mean did yi see that fella playin the spoons and tappin on the drums, was that meant to be a joke? They couldnt possibly of put him through because they thought he actually did have 'talent'. And for the two dublin girls doing the comedy act well I wont even go there.
