looking at the field the champion hurdle is wide open , i just have a feeling mcoy could get it right with binocular.
the horse is special he just has had a rough time of it, the christmass hurdle showed a improvement and he is still very young.

He is way overated not good enough to win against this bunch of horses.

solwit is going 2 need very soft going, go native would be up there , and i think starluck is overpriced in each way terms , he ran on very strongly at the end of the christmass hurdle, which leaves mcoy never write him off warning.

I would still put Binocular in the leading players for this race. What a lot of people seem to forget is that in another 20 yards, he'd probably be the reigning champion hurdler today! Plus I believe what this horse wants is a stiff two miles. The Kempton and Newcastle races certainly would not have played to his strengths either. Of course, there are five or six other horses with better form this season than Binocular but the race is run in March and thats when he'll be primed. Certainly wouldn't surprise me if he won.

Champion hurdle is most interesting race, probably because anyone of 8 has a good chance. I fancy Kybher Kim myself?

I can understand Loyaltotheroyals concerns regarding the price of Dunguib for the Supreme Novice Hurdle and have went through his form up to this point and went through the form of a few others of the principles also and have came to the conclusion that if he starts on the day at evens or odds against he will represent value.
Very often depending on a horses chances a even money or 6/4 shot may be better value than a longer priced horse on the day and I think that will be the case in this race. Loyaltotheroyal mentioned that if you just look at his hurdles form he is opposable, while you could make the argument that he has won two egg and spoon races and a weak Grade 1, you can also make the argument that he has gained valuable experience in jumping at big fields, (at Galway and Punchestown) impressing with his jumping technique. As regards his win at Fairyhouse, Some Present, last years Champion Bumper second, who finished 2nd was a good second in a Grade 2 Hurdle at Cheltenham, before disapointing at Leopardstown over Christmas when Davy Russell said his performance was too poor to be true while Sweeps Hill in 4th is high class and will improve for an extra year as he is only 4 year old and a New Zealand bred which means essentially he is 3 and 1/2 in horse years. The English horses with the exception of Menorah look very ordainary, Bellvano looks to be Hendersons Supreme horse and was put in his place at Kempton while the rest of his horses have really to be tested to see how good they are.
I think you have to look at the Cheltenham bumper performance last year and see how well Dunguib travelled (handling the pace of the race and undulations) and realise that he will appreciate a return to better ground also (by Presenting who's progeny are better on good ground), two valuable assets. The actual form of the race is solid too with amongst those well behind, Some Present (2nd) who will improve massively for a step up in distance but has finished 2nd in G1 and G2 since, Rite of Passage (3rd) winner of Leopardstown Handicap on flat by 8 lengths from Donnas Palm who Noel Meade thinks has as much ability as Go Native, interestingly, some people think Rite of Passage could be a Melbourne Cup horse of the future, Quel Espirit (4th) the current favourite for Albert Bartlett and Neptune Investment Hurdle at Festival after winning G3 at Cork and Shinrock Paddy (8th) winner of Barry and Sandra Kelly Novice Hurdle G1 at Navan by 15 lengths.
There may be value if you want to oppose Dunguib by having an each way bet on Menorah, who you still can get 10/1 in places (5/2 for a place) as hes a near certainity to be placed based on his Kempton performance, which was rated 1lb higher than Go Natives performance in winnng the Supreme last year, while the race was run 0.5 secs faster than the Christmas Hurdle the same day. As good as he is though, I honestly think that Dunguib is the horse to beat and will show that he can live up to his billing.

You aren't the only one Baron. I, too, have a feeling that the invincibility cloak that Dunguib proudly wears right now will be ripped off his shoulders by one of the improving English novices! Get Me Out Of Here looked very good today and is without doubt a creditable challenger.
