In a feeble attempt to convince others that the their club has finally turned its back on sectarianism Rangers fans like to list the names of their Catholic players. To do so misses the point entirely. omaghredhand (Tyrone) - Posts: 3656 - 07/01/2010 13:04:00 526728 Link 0 |

It seems that Celtic captain Scott Brown has a very different view of Boyds abilities compared to some posters here - In his own words bad.monkey (USA) - Posts: 4649 - 29/05/2010 16:45:07 661629 Link 0 |

so he broke Larson's record, big deal! Bigapple (Kerry) - Posts: 495 - 27/08/2010 19:16:06 758230 Link 0 |
I dont get the point some of you are making. Larsson went to Barcelona and United, Boyd is at middlesbourgh. I thought Real Madrid would have been after him the way some of you boys are talking. Derry_ledd (Derry) - Posts: 2093 - 28/08/2010 10:29:21 758403 Link 0 |
The "record" is flawed. Larson actually scored more goals in less games the Boyd. In Larsons first year the league wasn't known as the SPL therefore his goals from that season are not counted. Boyd scored his goals with 2 clubs whilst Larson got all his with Celtic. Finally Boyd was the penalty taker for Rangers which greatly boosted his statistics, anyone who knows anything about Scottish Soccer knows that Rangers get a lot of penaltys. The standard joke is if you meet a Rangers Fan and ask him what was their result if he says nil all. Your next question is ,"Who missed the penalty for ye". Anyhow Henke went on to win a European Champions medal and play with both Man. Utd. and Barcelona funny but neither of them seemed particularly interested in good old Boydchenko. corkcelt (Cork) - Posts: 4388 - 28/08/2010 15:42:25 758641 Link 0 |
Surprised you think Boyds achievement is lessened because he played for two clubs, in fact this makes his achievement even more impressive as anyone knows it is alot harder to get goals if you dont play for celtic or rangers as you get far less chances. bad.monkey (USA) - Posts: 4649 - 28/08/2010 16:09:42 758659 Link 0 |
Boyd is a tube as his form in the Championship shows. He scored most of his SPL goals against the lower teams and I think only scored once or twice against Celtic for Rangers. Henrik scored 2 in the UEFA Cup Final and set up the winner for Barca in the Champions League final; this must go down as the studiest thread EVER on HS. ANTHONY STOKES checked in at Parkhead last night and vowed: I'll be Celtic's answer to Kris Boyd. bad.monkey (USA) - Posts: 4649 - 01/09/2010 18:17:58 762818 Link 0 |
So What. No one ever denied the guy was a good goal poacher quite obviously his record speaks for itself but he couldn't hold candle light to Henrik. So far he is struggling to score at Middlesboro, as someone earlier mentioned most of his goals came against lower ranked SPL teams and obviously he is finding it tougher in the Championship. Personally I have nothing at all against the guy and I'd be quite happy for him to do well in Middlesborough but dont compare him to Henrik. corkcelt (Cork) - Posts: 4388 - 01/09/2010 20:47:34 762941 Link 0 |
