i agree as it stands he hardly played 5 games is rite and often looked slow and out of shape when he did play u would have to say hodgins or kavanagh were the most reliable persons in the full back berth Pumpitinlow (Galway) - Posts: 580 - 08/02/2011 17:38:25 863363 Link 0 |
I am not a fan of these teams of the decade forums as it shows we are living on past glories and doesn help us with the problems of our current teams!! Eire89 (Galway) - Posts: 325 - 08/02/2011 19:24:21 863473 Link 0 |
Maybe the younger ones of todays game are not as passionate as the guys used to be! hurler81 (Galway) - Posts: 37 - 08/02/2011 19:39:22 863487 Link 0 |
Some lads have little to be doing or just like living in the past..team of the decade how are you!!! We are two months into this decade and thats what we should focus on now.Deal with the present not dwelling on a crap era when we won little of value anyhow at senior county level...thank God for the minor and club championships though!!!! carrigrua (Galway) - Posts: 363 - 08/02/2011 19:53:32 863502 Link 0 |
a year and 2 months into this decade!! galwayr (Galway) - Posts: 31 - 08/02/2011 20:03:16 863511 Link 0 |
in fairness lads this is a ridiculous thread,if galway had an all ireland or two to show for their efforts then maybe it would be good to have a team of the decade to include the guys who tried in vain but could have improved a winning side and to recognise the hard work and effort they contributed in the making or re building of a successful team, maybe thats the differnce ,is the galway attitude and until we get rid of the inferiority complex we will be having another fruitless summer and i dont call getting to a final or semi a good summer, winning is a good summer anything else is falling short. Also we have had many fine hurlers over the last decade but it is always easier remember some with a certain fondness after they retire..... skinthecat (Galway) - Posts: 394 - 08/02/2011 20:59:30 863579 Link 0 |

hurler81 forget football? As an earlier post said the Galway team of the decade was the 2001 football team. Most people outside the county will always say that Galway when they have potential are more likely to blossom in football than hurling. History backs this up and the brillant U21 football team we had this year proves this. Instead of being divisive we should support both codes given that we are one of the few counties to be be competitive year on year in both. kiloughter (Galway) - Posts: 1973 - 11/05/2011 21:57:35 928800 Link 0 |
