Apologies again. It is a mistake! As Ireland (26 counties) didn't gain independence until January 1922! Assuming you mean the 26 county free state when you say Ireland, love?! How poor you are Patrique! Additionally, as far as I can recall we did not hand over our sovereignty in 1960, did we??!! More importantly the brutal British Imperialist system is responsible for the economic system that they handed over to us. Just as they were responsible for mass emmigration in the 19th century and as they were for exporting food and also were the Catholic Church for their collusion at certain levels. This holds them partly responsible for the economic mess from date of handover. So wise up a bit Patrique, and don't be always looking for a tabloidesque sound bite to emphasise a poor point badly!

These debates remind me of the issues in Galway city between Irish born and non natives taxi drivers. What happened was a group of independent taxi men in Galway set up a group guaranteeing that the taxi driver would be Irish, They named the group Galway Irish Taxis, or as its abbreviated on the cars G.I.T, an ironic title I must say.

Probably the only thing i will ever agree with wee Patrique on. My other half is a POlish girl and i tell you one thing us Irish dont have a good reputation for hospitality. It is a pure embarassment and disgrace given that for centuries we have travelled the world in search of work. Myself included.

The way she gets treated when i have had her home would make your blood boil. This girl earns more than i do through pure hard graft and my 'mates' have even had a pop, the same lads always seem to be career claimers from famalies with a long history of it to boot.

In truth we have a lot in common with the Poles and to tar a them all with the same brush is a joke. Some of the Irish boys over her in London are a disgrace and i would hate to think the Brits lump us all in the same basket.

Agreed so stop making inaccurate points and engaging in the age old Irish tradition of 'blame who you like but don't blame the Brits'! they invented concentration camps did they not?! The system we have we inherited from them. It is our time now but if we want to examine the problem then we must examine it wholeheartedly.

There are people on thsi site posting in a racist fashion but i don't deem them racists until they have had the chance to know what their position menas. If they proceed then they are racists!

Let me see..................2 in 10 car crashes causing a fatality is non-irish.............most cheat the weldare system........and the most of them couldn't be bothered working because of the system we have in place. That's not racist, it's the truth but it's not their fault really, we have left all the loop holes open for them to abuse..............

No Ulsterman, they are just WUM's and you buy into it every time.

I have mentioned in other threads the 'R' word is used far too readily these days and, like in the US, when the race card is played then real debate is automatically suppressed and true freedom of speech swept under the carpet as an atmosphere fear takes over. A 'Fear' of foreigners and non-nationals is not to be with a hatred of the same group, lets be clear on that, and therefore fear usually, but not always, translates into ignorance and not racism.

1. How do you know who is at fault in cases where there are two cars ?
2. Non nationals are 15% of the workforce - If say 50% of fatal accidents involve two drivers - what percentage would you expect ??
3. You use the word "MOST" ie most cheat and most don't work. So more than 50% of them. So thats a number of say 200,000 - what is your statistical source.

What is your proposd solution

1. Leave the EU
2. Pogroms ?
