Junior A Football

In relation to Junior A football, what was decided at the convention with LEAGUE is it staying as it was in 09 or is there going to be promotion in league or just relegation and a meaningless league with teams knocked out of championship ealy and no interest finishing league.

aran will do well to win.... they just about bet AN SPIDEAL second team in west leauge final. AN SPIDEAL could have won it only for three soft goals we let in and as i said we had seven lads that wouldnt be on first team playing that day.... if tuam any good at all they should win it

Has anything been done to the format of the championship? I heard rumours of a champions league style format?

Tuam Stars 1-9 Aran Islands 1-6, good game despite the conditions, well done to Spiddal on having the pitch playable,

Spiddalfan, Who were the 7 1st team starters you were missing against Arainn? I was at the match and counted at most 3, Arainn were also missin players so its an irrelevant comment

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought I saw Aran on TV during the summer winning some competition. I thought bottlers never won anything? Especially not finals where there are so many people watching.

Spiddal were missing 7 players from the connacht final when they played aran in the league final. The corner back, wing back,2 midfielders, wing forward and corner forward were missing when they played aran.Correct me if i'm wrong but aran were only missing 1 player, there midfielder.

That's all well and good Eire89 and may well be true (from what I've heard the league is pointless there anyway). But that's beside the point, the fact is they are the only football club in Galway (as far as I know) currently holding a national title. I find it difficult to understand how a team that wins a knock out competition beating 5 or 6 teams along the way can be described as bottlers. Obviously you have a different definition of the word.

4 or 5 of the finals they have lost have been by a point, unlucky as much as being bottlers, definately has to be something in the players heads as ya cant lose that many finals, especially when youre hammering teams along the way ,and not have it affect you!

Lost only 3 games this yr, 1st match of season, championship final, County League final but the bottom line is they still have to play Junior A again next yr and with what was a young team turnin old they have to get promotion in the next 2 yrs or could well be the end of them.
