Roy Keane

I find it hard to listen to roy keane these days, he seems more interested in convincing people he doesnt care than actually having a valid opinion. All this banging on about 'get over it' 'they had their chances' etc etc. The only common thing is that he will say anything that doesnt agree with the general consensus. We all know that they had their chances. But teams who miss chances can still be hard done by. I am quite sure he knows this, so why is it so difficult for him to say it? All this shooting from the hip for the sake of it and staring people down doesnt do it for me. Are we supposed to fear him?Give me a break. The english sports journos are too soft with him, id love to see someone cut right back at him

Yes must agree that Keane is possibly the best Irish player ever. His performances for United at the highest level proved that.
However he rarely played at his best for the Boys in Green.
He didn't seem to care as much as he did when with United.

Legend - is my favourite player of all time. Have found that he has become very opinionated and needs to chill at times though (mobile fone goes off in interview!!?). Wish him best of luck with ipswich and hope they stay up.

Roy Keane, although I prefer "footballers" to runners, must make it into a list of the Top Twenty in Irish football. Anyone who believes him to be the best ever, must be about 15 years old.

However I suspect the man has serious problems and will never be a manager.

Anyone could see that. I mean, study him closely when he is on TV.

Roy Keane played football at the same time as Zidane, van Basten, Weah, Maldini, and Ronaldo (Brazil) all of whom were better players than him off the top of my head and so how anyone can say he was the greatest player in the world is absolutely deluded.

And anyone who believes that Keane was Ireland's greatest ever player is as deluded. Liam Brady was far far a more skilful and talented player than Keane ever could dream of.

At his peak he was arguably the best in the world in his position. If he is such a terrrible manager, how come he got Sunderland promoted from such a perilous starting position? Unfortunately he made a huge mistake in running away from Sunderland when the going got tough but he will learn and hopefully he will become a top-class Premiership manager in the future.

"At his peak he was arguably the best in the world in his position. "

I'd have Viera, Makele, Seedorf, Gattutso and Pirlo off the top of my head all ahead of him.

Sunderland had a massive squad and massive budget (by championship standards) when they were promoted men_of_49. Keane wasted tens of millions there.

Nocky, he bought Paul MacShane. You don't need to say any more.

He took over an Ipswich team and has brought them backwards.

But you're a heretic if you criticise the patron saint of guide dogs. I think a lot of his fans actually need guide dogs judging by some of their statements.

I told you all in the past about a dangerous obsession United fans have.

If in 1916 the Brits had said "you can have Pearse, Connolly, Ceant, Clarke and the rest, or Roy" the united fans would have chosen Roy.

Patrique - keane would have died in battle - not been arrested from the safety of a post office and shot.
