Roy's interview on the BBC sport website is worth taking a look at. He has still a major grudge at the FAI that will never go away. Cant see him ever been national team manager MARNELL (Westmeath) - Posts: 728 - 20/11/2009 13:27:06 489363 Link 0 |
What a deeply sad individual. He talks about Ireland getting over what happened on Wednesday night Jesus this is the same fella that hasn't yet got over what happened in Saipan in 2002. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12040_5706539,00.html Please judge for yourself by watching the video. As much as he was right about certain issues that arose in Saipan 7 years ago ,he does need to get over them. Bartle doo made a perfectly good point that I would agree with. The substance of Roy's argument wasn't totally incorrect but if Ipswich were beaten for example in the play off finals by a similar handball how would Roy react? dubupnorth (Dublin) - Posts: 1897 - 20/11/2009 15:08:08 489467 Link 0 |

It is about time we stopped discussing him and Stephen Ireland in my humble opinion. We shold talk about the people who want to be involved. Junior Hurler (Wexford) - Posts: 83 - 20/11/2009 15:21:01 489490 Link 0 |

Roy keane was irelands or one of there best players ever and he is right about the FIA but felt for players and fans afterall the FAI treat cork players different from the dublin ones. Dellboypolecat (Tyrone) - Posts: 15069 - 20/11/2009 16:16:27 489588 Link 0 |

JUDAS has shown his true colours yet again, and overrated as a footballer, a good footballer yes but could never do with a ball what liam Brady could do with it. PJ (None) - Posts: 2288 - 20/11/2009 18:05:01 489678 Link 0 |

roy keanes a traitor. he walks when the going gets tough and walked away when his country needed him most. he walked on sunderland too. when in saipan he should have shut up. hes there to play FOOTBALL and nothing else. now he doesnt want an irish replay out of his spite for the fai. he's a selfish disgrace 32_4_1 (Meath) - Posts: 4171 - 20/11/2009 18:09:02 489685 Link 0 |
Although Keane came across as bitter and angry in that interview (I watched the BBC iPlayer version, not sure if it's different to Sky) what he said is essentially true. We should have defended the free kick better, should have taken some of our own chances to score. The FAI never, ever, not in a million years, had a chance of getting the game replayed, it would have opened up a huge can of worms. The posturing by Delaney et al since Wednesday night has been embarassing. nocky (Wexford) - Posts: 2059 - 20/11/2009 18:10:07 489686 Link 0 |

The Irish players in the Stad de France on Wednesday night done something that Mr Roy Keane never done, Played with Pride and Passion for the Irish Jersey and fans. Keane when he was'nt pretending to be injured only played with half a heart saving his best for the other left footer mr Alex Ferguson. Fact.
