Will it be Arsen who puts the final nail in the coffin today.

Got to say, it is taken some nails!!!!!!!

Mid-table obscurity seems to be another for our friends across the M62 these days.

Was disappointed with utd yesterday but fair play to villa and o'neill - they really went for it and got the right result. Would love to see them in europe next year.
On yesterdays game - berbatov would want to be putting away those chances for over 100,000 a week...

Its the same old story which must of happened at least 5 times this year. Go a goal up and still dont win. e.g Lyon(twice), Man City, Fiorentina, Arsenal.

He has to go. Been there 5 years and built a team with only 2 players, Torres and Gerrard. They are the only 2 that would make it on to united or chelsea.

URGENT NEWS FOR LFC BOARD:
SACK RAFA NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OR WE WILL BE RELEGATED NEXT YEAR IF NOT THIS.

I think Liverpool need to get rid of RAFA urgently...he goes from one excuse to another: a while ago it was injuries and now he is complaining about bad luck, Utd., Arsenal even Everton have been missing a load of players but they are still managing fine, a lot of the players he has bought dont look upto it. I dont know a lot about Aqualani but he didnt look upto much when he came on...I thought Stephen Gerard looked a like very frustrated during the second half and if Liverpool dont make the champions league next year I think he will be tempted by some of the bigger clubs around Europe.

LFC - things are going from bad to worse every week - that was liverpools strongest team out there yesterday. only reina, gerrard and torres are of real quality. the look on ian st.johns face on sky sports said it all for me really, the man is devestated at the clubs demise. and this the day 50 years ago shankly took over. it really is sad.

At the moment Pool ar playing like a team in free fall, 3 wins in their last 15 matches - thats relegation form. Big name players don't look interested, they know that this season is a write off and are playing in such fashion. All the signs of a manager that has now lost the dressing room. Very hard for Rafa to get that back. It will be another 9 months before Liverpool can think about starting a title challenge again and who knows if they'll even be invovled in the champos league next season.

I don't know how to put any sort of positive or optimistic spin on things. Lucas had a good game yesterday!!

liverpools financial difficulties are obviously terrible so, unless they are willing to sell both torres and gerrard, they cant afford to fire and pay off fat cat rafa.it really is time for the club, fans and people in power to seriously will on rafa to do the honourable thing and step down on his own accord.

his flaws over the years are obvious.mainly his truly awful transfer record.its debatable whether it would be better for him to go now before the january transfer window or stick it out till the end of the year..

the main point is liverpool cannot afford to keep rafa or pay him off.he knows this.its now a question of how big a man he is.

The reasons why it would be a bad idea to let him go are that it will cost Liverpool 20 million in compensation since he only signed a new contract last season and that there aren't too many top class managers available right now. The reasons why he should go is that in my humble opinion we're not going anywhere under him, 2nd last season or not the football is still muck, and should we keep the current form up he will cost us nearly 20 million by not qualifying for the champions league next season.
I don't want to be kicking the guy or the club while they're down but they're in a cut throat industry, its kill or be killed. Pool can't afford to not be in the champos league and we can't afford to be under achieving every year. 5 years and a huge amount of money spent later, we're right back to where we were when he arrived

"I would say about a 40 waist" Its all that food he's been getting at La Tasqa's.

All joking aside the last 2 posts are bang on. Dammed if you do and dammed if you don't. Like ourselves down at Old Trafford, i think you need new owners. Then you can move forward. Until then lads the only way is down.

It wouldn't hurt as much Mancirish if they were playing good football. This is all so similar to Houllier. He won us trophies even got us to second spot one year, everything looked rosey in the french mans garden. Within one season it was obvious that everything had just gone wrong. Although Houllier had shored up our defence and we did start getting results against the other big teams the football was still poor. Again, you'd have to say that its all so similar to where Pool are today.

NavyNBlue - agree with you alot there - since houllier took over from roy evens lfc's style of football has gone downhill - liverpool used to be admired for their free flowing PASSING football in the past, but you do need to mix it. success however is measured in silverwear (ask arsenal fans). i remember not too many years ago arsenal used to be called boring. the manager dictates his style of football on a club. ive always stood by rafa and liverpool fans must be the most patient in the world. the clock is ticking however and the ice rafa is walking on is getting thinner with each passing week.

yew_tree - I had no problem with Houllier or Rafa as long as they were getting results regardless of how boring the football was. With the way in which both set their stall out to play football its done in a very negative fashion and its rare that players are allowed to develop. I'm old enough to remember that the team that Joe Fagan had playing back in the early 80's played good football but nothing to how good they played under Dalglish. The team was allowed to develop, players developed and not necessarily in their given positions either.
Under Rafa, Liverpool are made to play in europe. They aren't however made to get grubby 1-0's away to Blackburn on a wet and rainy day the way Man Yoo and Chelsea are. Although Liverpool don't get bossed around in the middle of the field the same way Arsenal can, there is far more potential for Arsenal to do well and achieve more with the way in which they play football in my humble opinion. I'd say Arsenal fans are asking when but I think they are closer than we are to correcting their mistakes in the long term.
