Rafa must go now he has lost it completely .

Just been on the news. Although he has only won CL once in 5 years, Liverpool have decided to give him another 18years to see if he can equal Sir Alex's achievement, of two wins in 23 years.

If he fails, well you would think he had lost it then. I mean, two in 23 years. Come on.

For the last time Manchester United have not been in 23 CL Campaigns. They have competed in 15.
In those 15 years the teams that have won the Cl are as follows
Real(3)
Ac(3)
MUFC(2)
Barca(ABU'S current Fave Team!)(2)
Munich(1)
Juve(1)
Ajax(1)
Porto(1)
L'pool(1)

So the only teams to win more than the reds are the 2 teams Financed by the Spanish and Italian Governments.Even the mighty Barca are only on a par with the Famous MUFC.So you can begin to compare MUFC to these teams when the British Govt begin writing blank cheques.
I woulld appreciate if all ABU'S could at the very least have some consistencies in their arguments.Claiming United buy everything they win and then Laughing at our "failures" in Europe whilst they shout for teams who have spent 3/4 times as much as we have is comical, but then spending a dull and empty life cheering on every team that plays a particular team each week is comical in it's own unique way.

juve are the unluckiest team to ever enter the champions leagye with barca not far behind. although barca will move level with the amsterdam and munich giants this year. also yes united won it n 99 but that was after being played of the field

But City are useless.

However now that they have some resources do you think if they win TWO CLs before 2030 that Hughes will still be the manager with everyone going "greatest manager ever" and so on. I don't.

The media can sell you ANYTHING.

Patrique, despite what you say, Ferguson has won 44 career trophies as a manager in Scotland and England. There are very few, if any managers who can challenge this record. 10 trophies in 9 years at Aberdeen including 3 leagues and 2 European trophies is hardly the legacy of a rubbish manager

That was an excellent post, but it is sad the lengths you have to go to try and pacify patrique. I know he is on a wind up so I have stopped trying as it got boring. I can assure you it is definitely a blue thing as a lot of their fans are very very bitter about their famous neighbours. They seem to struggle to accept that Man Utd are this world wide phenomena. To be fair it must be hard having such elustrious neighbours and to be starved of any success themselves for so long. Like i said very sad, you have to feel for poor partrique. I do fear for his health and well being because his obsession with all things MUFC are a worry.

Back to Rafa.... I was in La Tasqa's again this weekend, all i could here was You'll Never Walk Alone blasting out everywhere. That waiter has got to be Rafa. lol
Will it be his last game tomorrow??? I hope not.

Roy Coyle.

By the way, I NEVER said Fergie was a useless manager, in the thread rating premiership managers I have him at number 2, albeit for his record at Aberdeen.

Also his lack of success in Europe was also down to a board who were aware of the fact that the stupid supporters believed SKY TV that the SKY League was the greatest thing since sliced bread. Therefore they could make a fortune without having to spend profits on success in Europe.

But to real fans, especially those without a "little Englander" outlook, success is measured in Europe.

They also know it is NOT due to success on the playing fields, like winning NINE European Cups or something like that. It was due to an awful tragedy, namely the awful Munich air disaster in 1958. This event raised the profile of the club from being a run of the mill English club prior to 1958. And certainly since the advent of the SKY league United have been in a class of their own, in England. But that awful disaster was memorably HONOURED by the the people of MANCHESTER with blue and white scarves at the anniversary Derby match in 2008. I was there. Those City fans did the club and the City and football PROUD. And I did not see any of this bitterness which you mention.

I think Fergie's 44 have a wee bit more importance than the part time leagues here. In saying that Coyle was a brilliant manager. Alas Fergie has more league wins and 5 European trophies, slightly better than the TNT Gold Cup

Back to Rafa for a second, last night was another prime example of why Liverpool can't/won't play good football under the man.Yes we had to win in order to have any chance of survival but we were still completely dependant on another team doing us a favour. With that in mind, why not just go out and play to win and win well. He keeps with a 4-5-1 formation which only works well when 2 key components are available - Gerrard and Torres. Torres wasn't available so why not change the system to try to get the most out of the game. Playing this 4-5-1 formation and being 1-0 up only seems to invite teams on to poach an equalizer. Look at the amount of games so far this season where Pool have let leads and domination in the middle of the field go.
NGog did relatively well on his own up front, but look at what way we could have played. Why do we always have to play 4-5-1, I don't understand it. Gerrard and Mascherano would have been fine in midfield. Drop Lucas, play some make shift players in the wide positions instead of a crucial area like the middle and have 2 up front. Is 4-4-2 really that awkward for Rafa to get his head around. The 2 sitting midfielders are supposed to protect the centre halves but they don't do it. There's no communication. We saw at the end how Debrecen could easily have poached an equalizer.
The man doesn't seem to want to learn from his mistakes so far this season. Yes the defence is leaking goals but the majority of them come from set pieces - that can be worked on and improved in training, but for years teams are still enjoying loads of space in our box everytime they get a corner or free kick.

The ONLY team from Ulster in the last 7 years to win more all Ireland's than Antrim is Tyrone......................

Ar e we the second best team now?

By the way, no-one managed real or Barca for 23 yesars and won two CL. Guardiola has 22 years left to equal Fergie.

So now Rafa is looking to buy Viera
To me its a bad buy, unless we get him on a free. But I'd be more worried that he's buying him because Mascherano is definitely on his way out
