cmon the galls!! MCKENNA007 (Antrim) - Posts: 38 - 22/11/2009 21:44:56 491256 Link 0 |
st galls are an absolutley outstanding team and i would say that there isnt a team in ireland who has as much talent, however they do have the pick of belfast, in the past all good young players who have great potential tend to move to st galls, look at the likes of sean burke, because of this st galls are the best team in antrim but the rest of belfast has suffered. Other than st galls all the best clubs are from the southwest, Cargin, Moneyglass, Creggan, Portglenone smileyd123 (Antrim) - Posts: 55 - 23/11/2009 09:37:02 491459 Link 0 |
BREAKING NEWS..... Fermanagh is under water, so the St Galls? fdermanagh men may not make it, and the supporters may not make it either. sam02 (Tyrone) - Posts: 643 - 23/11/2009 19:05:32 492112 Link 0 |
Sean Burke has been playing for st galls his whole life, so has his three younger brothers and his dad is a underage hurling coach. St Galls senior team have been playing for st galls basically their whole life apart from 3 or 4. That statement is unfair and people cannot start yapping about how they didnt play underage while most of them did! MCKENNA007 (Antrim) - Posts: 38 - 23/11/2009 20:50:11 492219 Link 0 |
Sam 02 any chance of you transferring out of Armagh? I think your snide remarks would be better suited to somewhere were nobody will hear you Morning_Star (Armagh) - Posts: 19 - 23/11/2009 21:38:53 492281 Link 0 |
Just to but in Sean Burke was actually a Mitchels man transferred in under 12 i believe. Father was a passionate Mitchels man but headed to St. Galls with the kids. Another of the problems of Belfast hurling and football, the big clubs taking all the smaller clubs players. You can't blame the kids though, what 8 year old wants to play for a shipshod team without a pitch when they can go up to this big nightclub like complexes and get lifted and laid on the buses. a big failing of my old club McCrackens. same with the mcds, davitts etc the list goes on flankie (Antrim) - Posts: 281 - 23/11/2009 22:09:52 492318 Link 0 |
samo2 - it would also be a good idea if you learnt how to spell Fermanagh correctly. PGD (Tyrone) - Posts: 55 - 24/11/2009 08:15:06 492483 Link 0 |
Morning Star..... wake up and smell the coffee, transfer out of Armagh, not likely, certainly not on the back of your suggestion. sam02 (Tyrone) - Posts: 643 - 24/11/2009 09:26:18 492501 Link 0 |
sean burke hasnt been playing for st gall his whole life as flankie said he moved from mitchels at an early age beacuse the were a small club that dont even own a pitch. In quite a few teams in belfast pride is only a word, unlike in the southwest. smileyd123 (Antrim) - Posts: 55 - 24/11/2009 11:14:57 492548 Link 0 |

Morning Star and Orchard Harvest would I be right in saying you are the same person, your vocabulary doesnt vary much, for what it is worth. I went To QUB and played Sigerson Cup football for Queens, and was head hunted by City Clubs to transfer, but my loyalty was to my own Club in the County of my birth, and whom I started playing with. People who transfer to a club like St Galls in Belfast, are only glory hunters, but to still play for them, having left the City and moved back to the Country ( ie Fermanagh and Armagh ) in this case, renders them ineligible to play for St Galls. And just another wee English lesson for you, ie. " Cross have been dignified throughout THERE years at the top ", that should be " THEIR," 100 lines and stand in the naughty corner for 20 mins. sam02 (Tyrone) - Posts: 643 - 24/11/2009 20:48:30 493183 Link 0 |
Sam thats bull about players being illegal if they live outside. plenty of players have lived in Belfast and moved. be it to the the other side of Belfast (County Down) they still legally play Naomh Gall. what your county has as a By Law is not the same here. milltown row (Antrim) - Posts: 14 - 24/11/2009 21:49:28 493240 Link 0 |
MILLTOWN ROW... A GAA rule is the same let it be in Cahirciveen or Carndonagh, hope you know where those two places are lol. sam02 (Tyrone) - Posts: 643 - 24/11/2009 22:03:50 493252 Link 0 |
Sam02 - you're wrong - they are eligible to play for St Galls until they transfer from the current club. If you lived in Dublin, what with the number of non-Dubs some of their clubs have, never mind when UCD do well in the SHC with practically no Dubs, you'd need valium if you're getting yourself so worked up over St Galls. pearsesabu (Antrim) - Posts: 663 - 24/11/2009 23:31:43 493350 Link 0 |
Sam02 - 'They could play for St galls whilst resident or working in Belfast ( Antrim) but if the moved to Carryduff, to live and work, then they couldnt play for St Galls' BigBallFan (Antrim) - Posts: 32 - 25/11/2009 08:13:53 493434 Link 0 |

At the end of the day so what if a few players aren't homegorwn by St. Galls? Its not like St. Galls built a whole team by bringing players in from other places. Without the Gallaghers I'm pretty sure St. Galls would still be in the same position right now. Plus I don't care what club you are from if players like that came and asked to join I sincerely doubt you would send them away. This sounds like begrudgery against a good south antrim team doing the city proud. flankie (Antrim) - Posts: 281 - 25/11/2009 11:51:29 493566 Link 0 |
