st galls are an absolutley outstanding team and i would say that there isnt a team in ireland who has as much talent, however they do have the pick of belfast, in the past all good young players who have great potential tend to move to st galls, look at the likes of sean burke, because of this st galls are the best team in antrim but the rest of belfast has suffered. Other than st galls all the best clubs are from the southwest, Cargin, Moneyglass, Creggan, Portglenone

BREAKING NEWS..... Fermanagh is under water, so the St Galls? fdermanagh men may not make it, and the supporters may not make it either.
McKenna07, good idea to learn how to spell St Teresas before coming on this site.

Sean Burke has been playing for st galls his whole life, so has his three younger brothers and his dad is a underage hurling coach. St Galls senior team have been playing for st galls basically their whole life apart from 3 or 4. That statement is unfair and people cannot start yapping about how they didnt play underage while most of them did!
woww sorry

Sam 02 any chance of you transferring out of Armagh? I think your snide remarks would be better suited to somewhere were nobody will hear you

Just to but in Sean Burke was actually a Mitchels man transferred in under 12 i believe. Father was a passionate Mitchels man but headed to St. Galls with the kids. Another of the problems of Belfast hurling and football, the big clubs taking all the smaller clubs players. You can't blame the kids though, what 8 year old wants to play for a shipshod team without a pitch when they can go up to this big nightclub like complexes and get lifted and laid on the buses. a big failing of my old club McCrackens. same with the mcds, davitts etc the list goes on

samo2 - it would also be a good idea if you learnt how to spell Fermanagh correctly.

Morning Star..... wake up and smell the coffee, transfer out of Armagh, not likely, certainly not on the back of your suggestion.
You have contributed nothing to the site, you are probably one of those who jumped on the Armagh Bandwagon at the start of this Century.

sean burke hasnt been playing for st gall his whole life as flankie said he moved from mitchels at an early age beacuse the were a small club that dont even own a pitch. In quite a few teams in belfast pride is only a word, unlike in the southwest.

sam,

I doubt you are even old enough to remember the start of the century. You should probably still be in school. And enough of the snide unwitty remarks asking people to watch their spelling, just childish.

Morning star has provided a number of insightful comments into the St Galls set up, including mentioning the starting line up throughout the Antrim and Ulster championship to date. By constantly harrassing and lambasting others on this site you are doing yourself no favours. Morning Star, A bandwagon supporter as you claim then, and the evidence to support this. I cannot believe the hypocrisy. But then a seasoned follower as yourself would strive to mention this, be it true or not.

The level of proper debate on this forum is shocking, very little insight and intelligent debate into the game. This has been an excellent Ulster Club campaign and some great football has been played for this time of the year. How about a debate into that.

St Galls I wish you well on Sunday afternoon, and like the Semi Final win over Clontibret, I am looking forward to a free flowing and decent game of football. I will certainly be in attendance and offering support, however I doubt you will have any respect from Sam.

Finally Sam, remember Cross have been dignified throughout there years at the top. Lets see the same from their supporters and lets look forward to a good final.

Keep up the good work St Galls and Antrim, a lot of promise for the future. Would love a draw between Armagh and Antrim in the near future, be it league or championship.

Morning Star and Orchard Harvest would I be right in saying you are the same person, your vocabulary doesnt vary much, for what it is worth. I went To QUB and played Sigerson Cup football for Queens, and was head hunted by City Clubs to transfer, but my loyalty was to my own Club in the County of my birth, and whom I started playing with. People who transfer to a club like St Galls in Belfast, are only glory hunters, but to still play for them, having left the City and moved back to the Country ( ie Fermanagh and Armagh ) in this case, renders them ineligible to play for St Galls. And just another wee English lesson for you, ie. " Cross have been dignified throughout THERE years at the top ", that should be " THEIR," 100 lines and stand in the naughty corner for 20 mins.

Sam thats bull about players being illegal if they live outside. plenty of players have lived in Belfast and moved. be it to the the other side of Belfast (County Down) they still legally play Naomh Gall. what your county has as a By Law is not the same here.

stop being petty. very childish to come on and lambast fellow Gaels. we have never asked for these players they just came. had not have played for us they'd play for someone else. St Galls dont really care what you or the other begrudgers think anyway. but sure you go on if ya like

MILLTOWN ROW... A GAA rule is the same let it be in Cahirciveen or Carndonagh, hope you know where those two places are lol.
Sure you can always get someone to Google it for you.
They could play for St galls whilst resident or working in Belfast ( Antrim) but if the moved to Carryduff, to live and work, then they couldnt play for St Galls,I am sure Loup will have taken note of these foreigners.

Sam02 - you're wrong - they are eligible to play for St Galls until they transfer from the current club. If you lived in Dublin, what with the number of non-Dubs some of their clubs have, never mind when UCD do well in the SHC with practically no Dubs, you'd need valium if you're getting yourself so worked up over St Galls.

Sam02 - 'They could play for St galls whilst resident or working in Belfast ( Antrim) but if the moved to Carryduff, to live and work, then they couldnt play for St Galls'

So anytime someone moves county to live and work elsewhere they have to move clubs? Nonsense.

"People who transfer to a club like St Galls in Belfast, are only glory hunters".
So you would put Kieran McGeeney's transfer to Na Fainna in Dublin as glory hunting, hope all the rest of you Armagh men heard Sam02 bring you that news.
I thought he was a fine man and player, even if his skills and training were Dublin gained.
I can hear Armagh men exploding all over the place, ha ha.

At the end of the day so what if a few players aren't homegorwn by St. Galls? Its not like St. Galls built a whole team by bringing players in from other places. Without the Gallaghers I'm pretty sure St. Galls would still be in the same position right now. Plus I don't care what club you are from if players like that came and asked to join I sincerely doubt you would send them away. This sounds like begrudgery against a good south antrim team doing the city proud.

sam and goalpost are full of it,

jealousy is a petty thing. True gaels would give credit where it is due and would respect other peoples opinions, their posts are negative and innaccurate. However when judgement is blindly clouded there is no hope. But sure why let the truth get in the way of anything

Not much hope im afraid.

Galls do us all a favour and hammer the loup on sunday if only to keep these two rockets in their misery that bit longer.

It must also be noted that there are genuine decent gaa men in armagh who will support their ulster rivals. Sam what are you thoughts on Loups Loughshore Select. You Conveniently seem to miss this point. Could it be that you just are not good enough to play for a team like st galls and you envy their success.

Incorrect, next time you're watching football on RTE and a certain Nordie pundit is on who now plys his trade for an Antrim team yet lives on the Down side of the Lagan.
