Actually think this could be a very tight game. Hope the Galls boys dont get ahead of themselves as there has been much rash talk of the AI this year. Winnin Ulster would be a massive achievement , but beatin E. Gaels would be some recompense for last year. Went to see them beat Mayobridge last year with the inlaws (Mayobridge crew) and was very glad to see them sneak past by a point . They then walked into an ambush at Casement and think they got ahead of themselves and took Cavan opposition too lightly. Hope theyve learned from that and would expect to see St.Galls win by the odd point.

have to agree with yee lads..... the gaels have won a lot of co titles but the truth is they are up against very little in cavan... its a different story in ulster and a level (or 2) maybe above what they are used too... nonetheless they have some quality players and home advantage which has to count for something... heres to a good tough sporting game with g..ls to win by 3....????

Macdaddy, I don't know how you guys did not win today. St Galls performance was very below standard, any standard. If Gaels had have continued to play football they would have won. But the level of indicipline was dificult to believe. The Gaels forward line was more accurate than ours. The ref was not great for either team and could have sent more players off for off-the-ball fouls. I think Cavan missed the boat here and we have through to the next round by the skin of our teeth.

Don't know if you mean Anto Healy or Sean Kelly, Anto was the one with the lack of hair. But I agree, I thought both these players played well, particularly Sean Kelly, he is rated as one of the best half backs in Ulster and was one of our highest scores yesterday. But then anyone who could string more than one pass together would have looked good yesterday.

very true galled.... very dissapointed today... we had yee on the rack and then fell for all the auld tricks...started niggling instead of playing ball... in fairness yee nearly kicked yourselves out of it too.... if yee had taken your chances early on yee would have won well....dont know how the ref gave the penalty but at the end of the day we only have ourselves to blame.... hope yee go on and win ulster now but yee will have to improve big time on yesterdays performance....

Thanks MacDaddy, you are right, the Galls shooting was not good. Don't know what happened to them yesterday. We scored more in the first 15 mins against a good Cargin team than we did the whole of yesterdays match. Had CJ and Rory Gallagher scored only half their opportunities we would have been home in a boat.
We will need some vast improvements to go any further in this competition. There are some good teams about Ulster at the moment. Cavan gaels included if only they can get the monkey off their back and play the football they showed in fits and starts yesterday.
