Actually think this could be a very tight game. Hope the Galls boys dont get ahead of themselves as there has been much rash talk of the AI this year. Winnin Ulster would be a massive achievement , but beatin E. Gaels would be some recompense for last year. Went to see them beat Mayobridge last year with the inlaws (Mayobridge crew) and was very glad to see them sneak past by a point . They then walked into an ambush at Casement and think they got ahead of themselves and took Cavan opposition too lightly. Hope theyve learned from that and would expect to see St.Galls win by the odd point. gaelantrim (Antrim) - Posts: 1616 - 15/10/2009 17:58:34 455666 Link 0 |

have to agree with yee lads..... the gaels have won a lot of co titles but the truth is they are up against very little in cavan... its a different story in ulster and a level (or 2) maybe above what they are used too... nonetheless they have some quality players and home advantage which has to count for something... heres to a good tough sporting game with g..ls to win by 3....???? macdaddy (Cavan) - Posts: 40 - 15/10/2009 21:38:09 455883 Link 0 |
MacDaddy, didn't know you Cavan boys had such a sense of humour, looking forward to the game tomorrow, it will be tough but we would expect nothing less. Hope we click and will by more than the odd point because I don't think my nerves could take a close finish galled (Antrim) - Posts: 251 - 17/10/2009 14:29:12 457191 Link 0 |
i hope its a nervy finish for ya.... that means we might have a chance of nickin it at the end...heres hoping... see yee tomorrow macdaddy (Cavan) - Posts: 40 - 17/10/2009 17:17:20 457259 Link 0 |
Macdaddy, I don't know how you guys did not win today. St Galls performance was very below standard, any standard. If Gaels had have continued to play football they would have won. But the level of indicipline was dificult to believe. The Gaels forward line was more accurate than ours. The ref was not great for either team and could have sent more players off for off-the-ball fouls. I think Cavan missed the boat here and we have through to the next round by the skin of our teeth. galled (Antrim) - Posts: 251 - 18/10/2009 20:32:25 458048 Link 0 |
galls were poor, anymore performances like that and bye bye.ref was poor.more players sent off,Haha.by the way who was your no.6?man of the match today. Mclovinxxx (Cavan) - Posts: 205 - 18/10/2009 20:48:50 458068 Link 0 |
How did Cavan Gaels manage to get 4 men sent off? robinhood (Antrim) - Posts: 128 - 19/10/2009 09:04:49 458391 Link 0 |
Disgraceful thuggery from both teams. I hope st Galls are dumped out at the next stage. CheFinny (UK) - Posts: 1358 - 19/10/2009 10:06:46 458446 Link 0 |
Don't know if you mean Anto Healy or Sean Kelly, Anto was the one with the lack of hair. But I agree, I thought both these players played well, particularly Sean Kelly, he is rated as one of the best half backs in Ulster and was one of our highest scores yesterday. But then anyone who could string more than one pass together would have looked good yesterday. galled (Antrim) - Posts: 251 - 19/10/2009 10:16:36 458459 Link 0 |
lucky st gouls yesterday!! complete shambles!! this st gouls team is useless and could only score 2 points in the first half!! murrayham (Cavan) - Posts: 182 - 19/10/2009 10:36:59 458480 Link 0 |
very true galled.... very dissapointed today... we had yee on the rack and then fell for all the auld tricks...started niggling instead of playing ball... in fairness yee nearly kicked yourselves out of it too.... if yee had taken your chances early on yee would have won well....dont know how the ref gave the penalty but at the end of the day we only have ourselves to blame.... hope yee go on and win ulster now but yee will have to improve big time on yesterdays performance.... macdaddy (Cavan) - Posts: 40 - 19/10/2009 10:57:05 458516 Link 0 |
what does that say about the geals murrayham. galls deserved to win as they tried to plays some bit of ball. Best on the day was no 6 no 7(MOM) and the lad who came on FF, stout lad was some handful. milhouse (Cavan) - Posts: 469 - 19/10/2009 11:06:54 458535 Link 0 |
Thanks MacDaddy, you are right, the Galls shooting was not good. Don't know what happened to them yesterday. We scored more in the first 15 mins against a good Cargin team than we did the whole of yesterdays match. Had CJ and Rory Gallagher scored only half their opportunities we would have been home in a boat. galled (Antrim) - Posts: 251 - 19/10/2009 12:32:44 458684 Link 0 |

It good to hear youse guys from Cavan, Gonzo etc, contributing, rather than people like MurrayHam. We have enough comments on this site hoping that St Galls and Antrim fail ! It sounded like a poor match, here's hoping they can give a better more open game next time out. Saffron_in_Dub (Antrim) - Posts: 85 - 19/10/2009 16:04:59 459039 Link 0 |
