432029 At least Mayo have got to that many finals and well done to them for that. But there must be some mental bloke in the county for actuallt winning finals.

It's hardly all one mans fault and he's not been that bad since the treatment.

Did McStay comment last night that this was the 18th time in a row for Mayo to lose a major final?

Ha! Mayo beaten, again! Feel sorry for any young lads loosing a final but no sympathy whatever for the County. And this excuse that loose because they play beautiful football doesn't wash.

Show me agood looser and and I'll show you a looser.

Never mind O'Gall, you have your politics, John O's in and your man will soon be in. How long do we wait for a tribunal to see where all the money went? Lol

Being from the same county as Glensman I too am a bit jealous of Mayo's success, but do not begrudge them.

Even yesterday Mayo remained faithful to the concept of the beautiful game.

After 22 minutes an Armagh forward MIGHT have been fouled as the Mayo lad's arm came over his shoulder and briefly touched him.

The reaction was astounding. Both feet left the ground, he turned a full circle, arms flung in the air and collapsed as though shot by an elephant gun.

Five years ago we had 5 Tyrone minors all booked for fouling one player, Darren O'Sullivan, on a rotational basis.

Such coaching may breed success but at what cost. Give me Mayo anytime.

Well you'd have a fair idea what a loser looks like coming from the hotbed of All-Ireland success that is...Antrim....

Patrique- We don't do the big ball down our way, which is unfortunate because I could pick 4 lads who would do the Saffrons proud, but in my view there was absolutely nothing wrong with the way Armagh played football yesterday. This 'beautiful' game that Mayo play is a myth.

I have watched countless 'puke' connacht matches involving Mayo. They will be eternal loosers because they are old fashioned, don't want a root and branch clear out and concentrate more on politics than football!

Wheres all the hate coming from..........you should never take pleasure from seeing another county beaten unless its your own county that does it, and then you should be big enough to acknowledge the achievement of the losing county and recognise that your own team will be there again someday.

As for Mayo losing yesterday, that's the biggest match that the majority of those young lads have ever or will ever play in and people take actual joy from seeing young lads who put in a savage hard year (many doing exams as well) beaten and distraught at the final whistle! A bit of perspective lads, those boys have done more already then most of us could ever dream of

I don't know where all the bad feeling is coming from, it's hardly the fault of anyone writing here that their respective county is not faring so well! Funny that the most frequent Counties quoted are all not overly familiar with AI success, my own included!! One thinks that if we won more often, less time would be spent on-line writing about it;)

Mayos' record is abysmal; I'm a supporter and will continue to be one...it's not an option really. The most positive things I can say about supporting Mayo football are;

1. We are almost always competative. (Very seldom/never are we written off before a game)
2. The supporters' camaraderie is very good:)
3. I would assume we win a lot more matches than we lose, (for example, win 4 to quarters/semi etc. and lose 1) Would like to know the percentages/stats?
4. On average we play a nice brand of football and also produce some great players.
5. When we finally win... the sweet feeling of success will be amazing...(I've felt it for the club title of 01 and not many things compare!!!)

Maigh Eo forever.

sorry to be picky but this one really gets under my skin :-

looser : someone that loosens or unties things, you know like to loosen your tie or loosen your belt after a good feed of beer
loser : someone that loses a competitive event of some kind

Can we please not use the former in place of the latter ... I keep getting visions of Mayo men running all around Croker untying their boot laces !!

Mayo did win a league final in 2002 or 2003 also, they beat Galway in the final.

As a Mayo supporter what I look for is that the team gives their all on the day. Realistically the Armagh team were more talented but this years minors which had only 2 or 3 from last years team gave it their best shot and with a bit of luck could have won. This was in complete contrast to the performance of the seniors v Meath in August. Attitude is everything and this team with their tremendous work rate couldn't have done much more. Hats of to the management who got the best out of a limited team. Lets not forget they should have been comprehensively beaten in the Connaught final v Roscommon and were only rescued by poor Roscommon shooting and a super human performance by the captain Aidan Walshe operating at Mid Field and Full Forward. As regards the Mayo disease of faiing at the final hurdle I think it is to our credit and personally is a source of pride that we continue to perservere sure in the knowledge that its a long road that has no turning. Its like the boxer who gets knocked down but continues to get up again and again. Its much easier for the Kerrys of this world who are rewarded for their effort on a regular basis.
