Yea you can sing it. Mayo supporters are particularly nasty to us Dubs on this forum, not to mention other counties. Ye know the old sayn, people in glass houses cant throw stones...if I was you, Id be keepin me mouth shut. Its been a long famine in Mayo since your last AI at any level. No need for the arrogance that you swagger around with.......Cmon the Blues!!!!!! Mollymalone (Dublin) - Posts: 1137 - 21/09/2009 16:19:21 432141 Link 0 |

Did McStay comment last night that this was the 18th time in a row for Mayo to lose a major final? Diego (Meath) - Posts: 1205 - 21/09/2009 16:37:34 432171 Link 0 |

Ha! Mayo beaten, again! Feel sorry for any young lads loosing a final but no sympathy whatever for the County. And this excuse that loose because they play beautiful football doesn't wash. TheGlensman (Antrim) - Posts: 123 - 21/09/2009 17:05:19 432206 Link 0 |
Being from the same county as Glensman I too am a bit jealous of Mayo's success, but do not begrudge them. patrique (Antrim) - Posts: 13709 - 21/09/2009 17:18:12 432223 Link 0 |
Well you'd have a fair idea what a loser looks like coming from the hotbed of All-Ireland success that is...Antrim.... BatigolStatue (Mayo) - Posts: 211 - 21/09/2009 17:25:35 432241 Link 0 |
Patrique- We don't do the big ball down our way, which is unfortunate because I could pick 4 lads who would do the Saffrons proud, but in my view there was absolutely nothing wrong with the way Armagh played football yesterday. This 'beautiful' game that Mayo play is a myth. TheGlensman (Antrim) - Posts: 123 - 21/09/2009 17:31:26 432250 Link 0 |

They will be eternal loosers because they are old fashioned, don't want a root and branch clear out and concentrate more on politics than football! patrique what match were u watching yesterday?...mayo minors got stuck into armagh, but physically weren't strong enough...they did well to get to the final, but really down should have put them to the sword.. mayotyroneman (Tyrone) - Posts: 1821 - 21/09/2009 19:23:56 432368 Link 0 |

Wheres all the hate coming from..........you should never take pleasure from seeing another county beaten unless its your own county that does it, and then you should be big enough to acknowledge the achievement of the losing county and recognise that your own team will be there again someday. I don't know where all the bad feeling is coming from, it's hardly the fault of anyone writing here that their respective county is not faring so well! Funny that the most frequent Counties quoted are all not overly familiar with AI success, my own included!! One thinks that if we won more often, less time would be spent on-line writing about it;) normann (Mayo) - Posts: 17 - 21/09/2009 20:30:36 432442 Link 0 |

Mayo did win a league final in 2002 or 2003 also, they beat Galway in the final. Bigboy (Galway) - Posts: 133 - 21/09/2009 20:32:49 432445 Link 0 |
As a Mayo supporter what I look for is that the team gives their all on the day. Realistically the Armagh team were more talented but this years minors which had only 2 or 3 from last years team gave it their best shot and with a bit of luck could have won. This was in complete contrast to the performance of the seniors v Meath in August. Attitude is everything and this team with their tremendous work rate couldn't have done much more. Hats of to the management who got the best out of a limited team. Lets not forget they should have been comprehensively beaten in the Connaught final v Roscommon and were only rescued by poor Roscommon shooting and a super human performance by the captain Aidan Walshe operating at Mid Field and Full Forward. As regards the Mayo disease of faiing at the final hurdle I think it is to our credit and personally is a source of pride that we continue to perservere sure in the knowledge that its a long road that has no turning. Its like the boxer who gets knocked down but continues to get up again and again. Its much easier for the Kerrys of this world who are rewarded for their effort on a regular basis. mod (Mayo) - Posts: 859 - 21/09/2009 20:47:18 432464 Link 0 |
