Favourite second county and most hated rivals?

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

dont really have a second county, maybe fermanagh as my uncle is from there

Most Hated has to be galway, used to be clare back in the day coz of their fans but that is easing and my dislike for waterford is increasing again coz of their supporters..

ps i love the way tipp is the most hated, its bordered by 95% of hurling counties and it prob stems from jealousy as we led the roll of honour for years and years!! Offaly & Galway are especially bitter

My second favorite without a shadow of a doubt would be Kildare as I always liked Kildare people don't have a dislike for any county really at a push maybe Meath.

Suppose the second county would have to be Fermanagh. My grandparents hailed from there and it would be good to see them finally win something. Fermanagh, that is, not my dead grandparents...Having said that, Fermanagh were a bit of a bogey team for us during the Mulgrew years so I cursed them up and down on a couple of occasions!

As for the rivals - has to be Derry. Sorry Niamh! Probably just a neighbourly thing but it hurts when ya lose to the ol' muckers. Think the Brolly factor helped to solidify the antipathy. Get a laugh out of him as a pundit these days but back when he was blowing kisses I just wanted to deck him. Getting flashbacks to 98 just thinking about it. Grrr!!!

Being from the boarder I should hate Derry but they aren't in any way a challenge so i would have to say filthy monaghan.

My second county are Antrim but a certain poster is doing his best to put me aff them. My auld fella is from Belfast and I love hurling.

dont have any time for other counties I support Meath and no one else. I've came across too many from around the country over the years supporting everyone we play against. Get the impression most the time most Leinster people would rather see Dublin win it than us. In hurling not much interest there, obviously Meath at the lower levels and a soft spot for Clare but not much else

My most "hated" teams, for want of a better word, are also the teams i would shout loudest for when they get to the All-Ireland stage and we're not there.. neighbours Tyrone and Derry. Can't stand the sight of them in Ulster and love getting one over on either of them, but when they hit Croke Park it's neighbourly solidarity all the way really and I would (imagine) that it's vice-versa. Glad Tyrone have won their All-Irelands instead of the Dubs or Kerry that sort of a way. Soft spots down south include Cork in hurling and football, always produced confident, never say die teams.

Lowerormond, What have you got against the faithful? I'm only guessing and I could be very wrong and I apologise if I am but would you be from just over the border, as in somewhere like Roscrea or somewhere like that?

When Derry is out of the championship I support the Ulster teams, But when Donegal put Derry out I didnt go for them I was cheering on Cork, Im a turncoat, So overall I'd say Tyrone would be my 2nd team
