Techland - You base your answer for who's going to win the Juvenille on? AdamG (Mayo) - Posts: 309 - 30/01/2010 17:22:39 546943 Link 0 |
based on results so far this season! techland (Galway) - Posts: 494 - 30/01/2010 17:57:00 546964 Link 0 |
Ive been told that 7-8 players who started for PCH in juvenile last year are underage again this year. I witnessed the current Headford juvenile team play Jarlath's in the league and PCH virtually outclassed them. I also heard they gave Roscommon CBS a fine beating too.. But this could all change when the Championship comes around. I hear St. Colemans college are also strong in that age group? Burca (Galway) - Posts: 346 - 30/01/2010 20:05:22 547059 Link 0 |
Fair enough but have you seen any of the games in the other section of the league! Either of the two teams that got through from that side could win it. AdamG (Mayo) - Posts: 309 - 31/01/2010 14:17:38 547352 Link 0 |
no.who is dangerous in the other group? techland (Galway) - Posts: 494 - 31/01/2010 21:21:51 547790 Link 0 |
re juvenile - PCH are a good dark horse to maybe get to a final, the favourites would have to be the old traditional powers, jarlaths and colmans. volunteer (Galway) - Posts: 4 - 01/02/2010 14:19:41 548189 Link 0 |
volunteer how can you say that when pch absolutely hammered jarlaths over in tuam already? manager5 (Galway) - Posts: 724 - 01/02/2010 15:19:25 548267 Link 0 |
I can see where your coming from volunteer, they are strong teams in that age (and all ages in College football) but I do believe PCH can cause an upset in the Championship after their performances to date. This is a neutrals point of view. Burca (Galway) - Posts: 346 - 01/02/2010 18:28:58 548528 Link 0 |

Jarlaths have been beaten in the League Final. This is not a good omen for the championship. It is time for realism on the prospects of success in Connacht this year. The school is in transition due to amalgamation and whether it will retain the qualities which made it a great nursery remain to be seen. For the first time ever there is a team trainer from outside the school and therefore a break with SJC footballing tradition already exists. What will emerge remains to be seen so lets wait for results and not build up false expectations. oldSJCfan (Galway) - Posts: 12 - 02/02/2010 21:46:20 549958 Link 0 |

apparently the 3 goals were conceded late in the second half. Talk about shooting yourselves in the foot lads wellscan (Galway) - Posts: 37 - 03/02/2010 16:48:42 550641 Link 0 |
supporters left games at half time because jarlaths were being so badly hammered years ago and they came back. difference is they had the boarders as cushion not there anymore. how will they react it will be interesting too see but one year shouldnt write off their aura. loosin to summerhill is a catastrophe but those at the top must build on today and put the proper structures in place and try and attract quality footballers back to the school. midfieldmaster (Galway) - Posts: 88 - 03/02/2010 16:56:44 550651 Link 0 |
I think the lack of passion and commitment that led to these defeats is probably due to the lack of memory and identity in the players; maybe Summerhill and muredachs are really good improved outfits but I fear that is not the case. What was this about a new jersey? Maroon and blue, so much for tradition. Maybe they should change the name and keep the proud memory of the old school and let the new management forge their own new identity, whatever it may be. mog11 (Galway) - Posts: 22 - 03/02/2010 17:57:58 550747 Link 0 |
