1994 when Down dumped us on our ***** in the first round of Ulster. In our own back yard too. UPSET!!! I cried for a week after.

Great game of football though, two marvellous teams who were capable of taking on anybody in the country. That will be no consolation though to the Derry folk but you guys did the same to us in Ballinascreen in 1987 when we were coming off the back of an All Ireland Final appearance.

Certainly up there with the 1943 Antrim win over Kilkenny.

However Loughiel WON the all Ireland that year, perhaps the most note worthy feat in GAA history, although Antrim have had 4 clubs in the hurling final, for 7 finals.

For me, the only shock in 92 was that wedidnt win the all-irland. We had by far and away the best footballers that year. Only the ref cost us a chance of beating Dublin and Donegal were certainly no great shakes. And amazingly Clare only picked up 1 all star that year in the great Seamus Clancy, another disgrace really...

Good man Patrique I would have put my house on you posting a reply to that one. Fair play to Loughgiel for winning the All-Ireland club that year. There was a serious enquiry in Moycarkey after that match, they only won one county championship since and that was 1984.

Ex QUB team mate of mine playing on that Loughiel team, Paddy carey, although there were two P.Careys on the side.

Big Niall Patterson, Woody McKinley, Beaver Mcgarry and all the rest.

Funny thing is Ballycastle were the best team in Antrim in that era with Eddie, dessie, Brian Donnelly and Peter Boyle and the rest.

Marky mark, I think that the monsoon that the game was played in certainly helped Laois and levelled the playing field that day, but saying that youse were good value on the day
