critic why does it matter where your from. typical north board arrogance. clifden have a strong minor team and if there are 4 lads on the panel they are justified in being there.

agree with critic 101 100%. over the last few years there have been too many players from the west that just arent up to standard. the north has always been where the quality footballer come from

why does it always have to be a matter of west and north..we are galway county not an amalgamation of west and north..who cares where they are from?if they are good enough to be on it then they'll be on it

okay, small minded people of north galway, Grow up... once upon a time the county was divided, a long time ago.. when the county panel consisted of only north players. time's change... people change, football changes. things don't stay the same forever.. Ye should be delighted that now, a huge amount of greatly talented people live there incase you guy's haven't noticed. Sean Óg de Paor in on name that springs to mind... like to see how galway would have fared without the likes of himself, sean o domhnaill, paul clancy, garry fahey and most of all kevin walshe. you guy's wouldn have an all ireland to boast about to us across the border.. people are staring to open up to football in the west and stop trying to build a divide.it was torn down in berlin...most definatly it will be torn down in galway. best of luck to yer minors in gettin to the connacht final this year... it's just a pity yer meeting us.

ah lads ur a disgrace altogether.....wat difference does it make where ur from in galway...the clifden lads went to every trial nd played well at them....they're showing more commitment and heart than any of the other lads...the same commitment and heart that galway football has lost over the years...and they proved in the league they're well able to play football at the highest level..

i recognise some of galways best players have come from the west and without players from the west galway football would be a total disaster. but you cannot deny the fact that in underage football, going back many years, some players, not all, from the were chosen not on merit but to convey an image of a broad selection of west and north players. this year, the majority of the minor panel are from the west when it is a fact that some of the best footballers in the county at this age group are in the north and have been excluded. commitment levels are grand but it is the most talented players galway needs not the players with most pride. i also have a feeling that the manager has been the result in so many west players being on the panel when it is as plain as day that there are better players being left out.

Clearly the players from clifden are capable to play otherwise they wouldnt be on it. They have shown the will and commitment to play for Galway whereas the north board players(not all) believe its there right to be on it regardless. If ya want to win its not all about whos best but who's willing to give the most and has the heart to do so

critic101 seems to be talking about the corofin team with the 15 best players in the county who were beaten 1-13 to 1-6 by tuam who only have one outfield player on the panel and saying they're better than a clifden team missing both black and vaughan who are injured and still racking up scores or so galwaygaa.ie says anyway

the ref- you just named the team that played yesterday against cork. that will not be the team against new york. the salthill midfielder wont be playing.was poor yesterday and is very unfit. have to say shaughnessy was outstanding. flynn is not a no6. niall quinn is a good club player but he is just not willing to put in the hard yards for the galway jersey.cant understand it.

football.mad you only named a 14 man side.
another skillful fast corner forward the other side of o griofa would work well in a strong team there
so who'd finish of that team?

Apologies, the other corner forward position would be contested between shane maughan and conor rabbite, personally id give rabbitte the nod
