niall walsh is from killanin,he looked very good today along with our 2 midfielders our number 5 and 4 as well as 14.One thing that I wondered at was that some of our players seemed to get out of breath very fast.

Galway Minors beaten in Ballinrobe
Date : 03/04/2010 22:22
Mayo 0 - 10 Galway 0 - 05

Galway Minor Footballers suffered their first defeat of this years campaign when they were beaten by Mayo at a wet and windy Flanagan Park in Ballinrobe on Saturday evening. Both teams played their best football when playing into the elements.

Despite playing against a strong wind in the first half Galway were just two points in arrears at the interval. 0-06 to 0 - 04. The scorers were Peadar Ó Gríofa 0-02 from play, Eamon McCann 0-01 from play and Niall Quinn 0-01 from a free. In the second half Mayo took the game to Galway and added four points in this half. Galway could only manage one point from substitute Shane Maughan and failed to convert many good scoring chances, which they created.

David Black and Jack Larkin both injured at the moment. Don't think Canavan was that in interested with the minors which is a real shame, one of the best backs in Galway with another year of minor to go next year.

Gerry fahy has dug himself into a hole. Why did he drop lads that were dead certs for the panel? I wont name names on lads who shouldve been picked but its pretty obvious. There is now the problems of who to play full back and who to play wing backs(this couldve been solved by not dropping lads that shouldve been picked). I think forwards are sorted to be honest.

not sure, if not he's definately in that group that were dead cert's.he would be corner back for sure and david black probably post out the wing back problem.

saltillboy I would have to agree with you as regards to the full back spot, loughnane at wing back along with varley have been very good in the last few matches even though varley starts center he ends up playing alot on the wing.As for the forwards they were very poor against mayo yes maughan won alot of high ball but what did he do with it, he is to slow to shoot or to pass, the forwards lined out differrent to the sligo match with ogriofa starting on the wing and having very little impact on the game, walsh was late coming and never got into it,quinn had a very quiet game by his standards, oneil was also very quiet,t flynn is not a full forward as for mcann he was very quiet, none of the subs that were brought on in the forwards made any impact cunningham is just not up to it,maughan caught a few balls but that was it.I would say the forwards have alot to do

who was the full bak against longford? he seemed solid, got 1 or 2 good blocks 2!taught conlon from salthill is worth a place on the team, was he not on it last year ?

I think Loughnanne is good at wingback. Not sure on Varley, Jack Larkin might be better. Yes David Cunnane might be the best option. Not being biased but Mike O'Donnell would be a good option aswell. I wasnt at the Mayo match was Walsh late arriving? O'Griofa isnt a centre forward,he should be full forward.
