wintered well u no ur stuff but im sure other players will have a say in this game and after all will be a team effort. for blackrock tg ryan brendan hennessy barry shaughnessy aidan murphy and effins mike rea, john o donnell jamesie o donnell and pa carroll have also made telling contributions all year these guys cud also prove 2 be match winners on the day. no disrespect to any hurlers not mentioned both teams have a solid strong 15 with very little or weaknesses. also agree nicky quaid is a class player and cud b the standout guy on show. cant call it lads nothin in it

Briany Moloney had Nickie in he pocket in the U21 match between the clubs even after Black rock went down to 14 men. Have a feeling Blackrock couldo this one with 5 points to spare great trainer brought in mid-season Liam Hayes from Dromina

As I said earlier I dont know a whole pile about the junior hurling, more of a man for the big ball, but I have an interest in the junior hurling as I work with a few lads who play junior. From talking to them and a lad from Kilfinane down the bookies in Kilmallock the other day all the smart money seems to be going on Kilfinane. 3 county panelists and 5/6 other very handy hurlers is some going for a junior team, he said they have no worries about being able to cancel out the big players from Effin . From what I hear they have a far better overall team than Effin and they have been improving no ends all year and apparently they are extremely confident of putting one over on Effin at the weekend, I know where I'll be putting my money.

Think effin have the experience after losing to a strong caherline team in 2007

where Effin play Nicky Quaid will have a huge bearing on the outcome... he normally plays midfield but ended up centre forward for the county quarter and semi finals, and also centre forward for the their U21's....

Pat heff 2 all ireland finals Richie murphy 3 years senior with Kilmallock Limerick senior involvement and intermediate team + college All ireland with Colmans Dave Moloney and Richie McCarthy all ireland Minor final 2005 Limerick u21 Limerick intermediate munster final and Limerick senior involvement last year where Richie was top scorer up til April. Me thinks that real experience that Effin dont have! Remember Black rock beat 2 senior teams this year in divs champs as well as 1 other in a challenge, lost to the county intermediate champs missing 5 starters by a goal against a full strength team and hammered glenroe!

me thinks south is 4m kilfinane he obviously doesnt no nicky Q and damien moloney both played centre back 4 limerick minors and u 21's.
nicky and tommy midfield and corner forward 4 limerick intermediates.
damien moloney centre back in 2008 for limerick intermediates munster champs.
john o donnell harty cup with colmans also
john dillon nicky rackard all ireland.
Come on both teams have very very similar contrasts with players achievements. nothing in it. both sets as good as the other so come off it south its been proven by the 4 games they have played already his year....even though blackrock slight just slight favourites.

Nicky Quaid a good hurler but never hurls for the hour, as in both south finals and for emmetts against Ahane and Na Piarsaigh. He might prove me wrong tomorrow.

Nicky quaid at midfield was the stand out hurler in the south final but tactically blackrock got it right in the replay and kept a lot of ball away from him, limiting his impact. Blackrock's midfield dragged him out to the wings and picked the ball down the opposite side. By moving him to centre forward, it's impossible for teams to keep him out of the game and the winner of the battle between him and Brian Moloney at centre back for blackrock could well decide the match

You could also add Mike Kelly also with a Nicky Rackard all ireland, John O Donnell former Cork minor Mike Rea 3 all ireland vocational medals with cork. Nicky Quaid Ryan cup winner [ in addition to the above] plenty of experience there to keep the rockies busy . Also i would 'nt get too excited about beating Liberties second string as they were missing several regulars on the night.

Congrats to both Effin and Blackrock, super game yest, great standard of hurling giving the poor underfoot conditions and what a brilliant atmosphere in front of a huge crowd, just proves all these finals should be kept away from Gaelic Grounds as there is no atmosphere in there. Blackrock were super yest, the 2 Moloneys, the 2 Richies, Murphy and Mc Carthy were brilliant and what about young Ruari O Shaughnessy, thought he was outstanding yest and in South Final replay also, looks to be a super first touch hurler, what age is this fella? Tough on Effin to lose 2 County finals in last 3 years, Tommy Quaid and the 2 O Donnells and Dillon played well and Damien Moloney in patches for them but very disappointed with Nicky Quaid, this is my 4th or 5th time seeing him play this year and he never stands out or dominates any game iv seen him, cant see why so many people reckon he should be on Justins panel, in my view his brother Thomas is a far superior hurler but is lacking physical strenght to play inter county hurling, anybody know who, where and when Blackrock are playing Munster club?

Hard luck to Effin yesterday, a young team that no doubt will be intermidate in the next 1 - 2 years. Blackrock will be dark horses next season for the Intermidate championship as they will be on a roll after this year.

Was 2-18 to 1-16. Effin got there goal in the dyin seconds. Bar the first 10 minutes of the second half Blackrock were the better team throughout. Only 7 wides in the match 3 Blackrock 4 Effin. A great standard of hurling some of the scores taken were breathtaking.
