Decent win by Effin today. When all is said and done though, it is Kilfinane's to lose. They are a super outfit. Quality all over the field. Reckon they will be collecting big style in two weeks time. Very magnanimous of the Ardpatrick boys to row in behind the Kilfinane banner. Nice.

no way will it be blackrocks to lose. effin every bit as good as blackrock.. they played 4 times 3 draws and a win for blackrock. blackrock probably the more balanced all round hurling team. how often do you see the divisional finalists come and win the county. its all on the day. either of these teams would put it up to any intermediate team

Both teams very evenly matched as clearly can be seen from the 3 draws already this year so very hard to call this one.

Have a feelin it'll be Effin's day as conditions gonna play major factor at this time of year and Effin more suited to a mudbath, also it ain't gonna be high scoring so free-takers are gonna be crucial and tommy quaid is in clinical form and finally on the law of averages Effin due a win at some stage.

Saying that a lot could depend on whether either team pick up any injuries between now and then.

Any confirmation yet whether it'll be on the saturday or sunday?

Oh county panelists only, no wonder I never heard of them, then again I suppose they could be big names in Kilfinane. Wouldnt know a whole pile about the junior championship but from what I hear Kilfinane are hot favourites for the county.

Look il be perfectly honest in saying there is only a puck of a ball between these teams. played 4 times drawn 3. both teams have about 4 standout players each. shud b a cracker. 2 solid all round good teams. blackrock prob favs based on winnin de south final replay. both teams showed gud form in semis. no injuries to either side....cant wait 4 the game to see who comesd out on top!!!

Why is it that in Limerick each year, there seems to be away more talk, interest and general banter about Junior and Intermediate hurling finals as opposed to the senior one? The same cannot be said of football in Limerick. This website is a perfect example. Hardly a line written about the senior final. Yet we get realms on the Intermediate and Junior scenes, and all throughout the year not just for the final, mind you. But it's not just on here but on the ground, all around the county. Is it the same in other counties? I doubt this is true of Cork and Tipperary. Has anyone any ideas on this? South Limerick Referee if you are reading this you may venture an opinion as if you're not up-to-date with the in's and out's of Limerick hurling then no-one is.

And as an addition to this post is there any genuine fair-minded hurling person out there who attends most of the games who can give an objective, unbiased prediction beforehand and match report afterwards of games, just like Prof. Honeydew does for all the important football games? I know it takes time and objectivity but the Prof provides a huge service to Limk gaels, especially those of us who are out of the country. With some effort and application it may be done and we may be able to concentrate one proper thread for discussion on Limerick club hurling games, be they senior, intermediate or junior.

Shoulderghost, you seem to have a problem with people commenting, previewing or 'having banter' as you put it on junior or intermediate championships rather than the senior championship. Maybe the people who message on these threads have an interest in the outcome, are from parishes who take part in this grade and wish to have their say. Your comment that you wouldn't see this in Cork and Tipp is weak, more typical putting down of all things Limerick which is a worrying trend that is becoming more common. The senior championship didn't exactly capture the imagination, while their have been some lively games in the other two grades. The GAA consists of clubs of 'all' grades from junior b up to senior who all contribute to make the organisation what it is, long may it continue

In no way did I intend for my comment to come across as disparaging to those who post about Junior and Intermediate games. The exact opposite was my intention in fact. It'd be great if we could get people like those who comment here on the junior and inter scene to do likewise for the senior stuff also. Junior and Intermediate levels are all I ever hurled at myself, so I've no prob at all with these grades. I think it's great that there's so much interest and comment on them. Just a shame it's not the same with the seniors. As regards Cork anyway whatever about Tipp the senior final there generates a lot of publicity and talk. In fact the senior hurling final in Kerry is given great treatment on Kerry Local Radio and it's amazing the amount of interest it generates. Plus they get decent crowds at the Kerry hurling final, for a "non-hurling" county.

These 2 teams have been the outstanding junior A hurling teams this season & the final is likely to a great game...they have met 4 times now & drawn 3 so its impossible to call...I wouldn't write off either team & think blackrock may be slight favourites but effin are likely to have learnt more by losing to blackrock than blasckrock did by winning...also effin have had the tougher of the quarter & semi finals in comparison to blackrock (no disrespect to either of blackrock opponents) so I wouldn't bet against them...it really is a facinating pairing & I think the game will be more entertaing than the intermediate & senior finals this year...both teams are certainly good enough to play at intermediate level next year...best of luck to both teams...

7 day weather forecast has rain, rain rain.... the Effin v Patrickswell match on Saturday in Kilmallock was played on a poor pitch anyway so so expect it to be much worse and very mucky for the final. Surely something that will suit Effin rather than Blackrock's lighter players.

Effin - Damien Moloney, Nicky Quaid, John Dillon, Tommy Quaid and Mikey O'Donnell
Blackrock - Richie McCarthy, David Moloney, Brian Moloney, Richie Murphy and Ruairi Shaughnessy
No doubt the winners will proclaim it to be a 'team effort' but surely the match winner is one of these guys!!
