Decent win by Effin today. When all is said and done though, it is Kilfinane's to lose. They are a super outfit. Quality all over the field. Reckon they will be collecting big style in two weeks time. Very magnanimous of the Ardpatrick boys to row in behind the Kilfinane banner. Nice. gameasapebble (Limerick) - Posts: 6 - 24/10/2009 23:12:21 465486 Link 0 |
no way will it be blackrocks to lose. effin every bit as good as blackrock.. they played 4 times 3 draws and a win for blackrock. blackrock probably the more balanced all round hurling team. how often do you see the divisional finalists come and win the county. its all on the day. either of these teams would put it up to any intermediate team jimmydakick (Limerick) - Posts: 8 - 25/10/2009 14:03:33 465761 Link 0 |
Both teams very evenly matched as clearly can be seen from the 3 draws already this year so very hard to call this one. wintered_well (Limerick) - Posts: 20 - 25/10/2009 18:17:43 465912 Link 0 |
Oh county panelists only, no wonder I never heard of them, then again I suppose they could be big names in Kilfinane. Wouldnt know a whole pile about the junior championship but from what I hear Kilfinane are hot favourites for the county. treatyman (Limerick) - Posts: 36 - 26/10/2009 09:22:00 466288 Link 0 |
The view in Blackrock is that it's only a matter of showing up in Kilmallock on the day............... landengineer (Limerick) - Posts: 112 - 26/10/2009 11:23:36 466359 Link 0 |
Look il be perfectly honest in saying there is only a puck of a ball between these teams. played 4 times drawn 3. both teams have about 4 standout players each. shud b a cracker. 2 solid all round good teams. blackrock prob favs based on winnin de south final replay. both teams showed gud form in semis. no injuries to either side....cant wait 4 the game to see who comesd out on top!!! holy_god (Limerick) - Posts: 31 - 26/10/2009 14:10:15 466468 Link 0 |
Why is it that in Limerick each year, there seems to be away more talk, interest and general banter about Junior and Intermediate hurling finals as opposed to the senior one? The same cannot be said of football in Limerick. This website is a perfect example. Hardly a line written about the senior final. Yet we get realms on the Intermediate and Junior scenes, and all throughout the year not just for the final, mind you. But it's not just on here but on the ground, all around the county. Is it the same in other counties? I doubt this is true of Cork and Tipperary. Has anyone any ideas on this? South Limerick Referee if you are reading this you may venture an opinion as if you're not up-to-date with the in's and out's of Limerick hurling then no-one is. shoulderghost (Limerick) - Posts: 863 - 26/10/2009 15:24:12 466543 Link 0 |
Shoulderghost, you seem to have a problem with people commenting, previewing or 'having banter' as you put it on junior or intermediate championships rather than the senior championship. Maybe the people who message on these threads have an interest in the outcome, are from parishes who take part in this grade and wish to have their say. Your comment that you wouldn't see this in Cork and Tipp is weak, more typical putting down of all things Limerick which is a worrying trend that is becoming more common. The senior championship didn't exactly capture the imagination, while their have been some lively games in the other two grades. The GAA consists of clubs of 'all' grades from junior b up to senior who all contribute to make the organisation what it is, long may it continue guigsy (Limerick) - Posts: 16 - 26/10/2009 21:22:29 466835 Link 0 |

Half 2 in kilmallock sun d 8th,conditions could play a big part on the day kilmallock pitch aint in d greatest shape either, very tough to call could be another draw... king.of.queens (Limerick) - Posts: 15 - 28/10/2009 15:13:16 468580 Link 0 |
These 2 teams have been the outstanding junior A hurling teams this season & the final is likely to a great game...they have met 4 times now & drawn 3 so its impossible to call...I wouldn't write off either team & think blackrock may be slight favourites but effin are likely to have learnt more by losing to blackrock than blasckrock did by winning...also effin have had the tougher of the quarter & semi finals in comparison to blackrock (no disrespect to either of blackrock opponents) so I wouldn't bet against them...it really is a facinating pairing & I think the game will be more entertaing than the intermediate & senior finals this year...both teams are certainly good enough to play at intermediate level next year...best of luck to both teams... longD (Limerick) - Posts: 66 - 29/10/2009 16:57:11 469904 Link 0 |
7 day weather forecast has rain, rain rain.... the Effin v Patrickswell match on Saturday in Kilmallock was played on a poor pitch anyway so so expect it to be much worse and very mucky for the final. Surely something that will suit Effin rather than Blackrock's lighter players. oldfullforward (Limerick) - Posts: 169 - 30/10/2009 12:48:05 470745 Link 0 |
Prediction time lads who will get over d line in 7 days time... king.of.queens (Limerick) - Posts: 15 - 31/10/2009 20:46:21 471942 Link 0 |
i said Blackrock at the start of the year, and i'm sticking with that prediction. Will be a hell of a final but for me Blackrock to win by 2 or 3 points. POD09 (Limerick) - Posts: 486 - 31/10/2009 22:13:29 472006 Link 0 |

Forcast is very bad for the week. Its going to be a mud bath in Kilmallock. Which team do ye think will be more ready for the conditions? munman (Limerick) - Posts: 17 - 02/11/2009 14:44:16 473017 Link 0 |
I think that d backs for both sides will b happier with d conditions and that blackrock will just shade it on d day king.of.queens (Limerick) - Posts: 15 - 02/11/2009 16:46:19 473164 Link 0 |
As holy_god said before there's probably 4-5 standout players on each side wintered_well (Limerick) - Posts: 20 - 03/11/2009 21:19:53 474456 Link 0 |
