ya it certainly was a good win for kilteely, a mammoth achievement by any standards.. you could be right regarding this year being a bit early to start talking about county titles, kilteely are very very young, the entire centre back line are still under 21, there was an inury to the corner forward lastnight and he was replaced by a 16 year old for example, while the young fella did quite well there is little strength in depth kilteely had a squad of 18 for the match lastnight, with two of the subs being 16 and 17.. however this will be seen as a stepping stone and hopefully the foundations laid here will lead to bigger and better things in the coming years TheFlat (Limerick) - Posts: 30 - 14/09/2009 12:15:27 425128 Link 0 |
Who were the main men on the Kilteely-Dromkeen side. Heard they have a few serious young players. Anyone know their team from last night? purple_n_gold (Limerick) - Posts: 1 - 14/09/2009 15:05:05 425353 Link 0 |

as regards the main men its hard to look past the three ahernes denny got man of the match, paidi hurled well as usual and conner scored 1-4, paidi keogh and shane o dea very solid at the back and david murphy scored well for a 17 year old his older brother john is freetaker but didnt get much of a chance to impact going off injured early in first half TheFlat (Limerick) - Posts: 30 - 14/09/2009 15:50:30 425422 Link 0 |
Delighted to see kilteely / Dromkeen winning as they have invested in youth over the past few years. Other clubs such as Blackrock, Effin, St Pats and Crecora have an amount of young players too. Not sure in the west if Feenagh and Feoghanagh are similiar, but it shows that the current top Junior teams are very young in comparison to 10 years ago. Lets hope these taems are kept together and that the City and East division pick from them next year for senior teams. Clubgaa (Limerick) - Posts: 879 - 14/09/2009 16:01:07 425449 Link 0 |

West Junior A Hurling Final, Feenagh/Kilmeedy V Feoghanagh/Castlemahon, Sunady at 1.30pm in Dromcolligher, This has makings on a great game but can anyboby confirm for sure who the ref is? What everybody wants is a ref who will let the game flow, ignore the petty fouls and we could have a rip roaring contest between two fine sides, some class hurlers on both sides, for Feoghanagh/Castlemahon there are the Lomasnehy brothers, Carroll, Noonan, JF Reidy, Fleming and Roche, on the Feenagh/ Kilmeedy side there are the 3 Lynch Brothes, Mossie O Sullivan, O Gormans, Murphys and that great servant of West Limk Hurling Ger Galvin, this is not mention what should be any intriguing battle on the sideline between John Flavin of Monagea and Limk fame training Feoghanagh/ Castlemahon and Ted Danaher of Knockaderry who is striving to win a West Junior with a 3rd different club, having already captured a West and County Double with his native Knockaderry in 2004 and a West and County Double with Monagea last year. A thriller in store (providing its not the ref I think it is), with conditions we have, maybe Feenagh/Kilmeedy by a point but have a feeling it will be a draw. batman (None) - Posts: 177 - 18/09/2009 10:37:12 429628 Link 0 |
South replay Blackrock 4.11 Effin 1.16, almost as exciting a finish as last week but rockies just had too much of a lead at half time for effin to pull it back. rockiesabu (Limerick) - Posts: 10 - 19/09/2009 18:59:30 430594 Link 0 |
Fair play to kilteely on winning the east, but they should concentrate on their county 1/4s,because after Caherline dominating the east for the previous ten years, the same will happen again, the only difference is it'll be either Cappamore or BB... one of which are on the way down from intermediate. pullhaard (Limerick) - Posts: 195 - 21/09/2009 08:29:24 431538 Link 0 |

A great victory for Kilteely in the East championship. For a small club winning a title is a huge boost. Blackrock are the team to beat in the Junior championship but Kilteely will not be a pushover in the knokout stages einstein (Limerick) - Posts: 47 - 21/09/2009 15:09:16 432044 Link 0 |
