back west i fancy feenagh to come through....big strong physical team. shud beat feonagh in final but they wont b pushovers. the city....very weak, probably crecora or pallas or ballyb but in general very poor. East...Doon to come through strong team but will find it tough in knockout stages....the rest of east very poor.
South very competitive....fancy blackrock and effin 4 de final. Nothin in it...drawn twice dis year. Rockies need Richie Mc back though. stakers flash in the pan last year...lucky to qualify for south semis, got inialated by effin the other nite. County....feenagh, blackrock or effin, dunno who'll do it. no offence to the rest as the south and west by far the most competitive divisions

For years Kilteely told anyone that cared to listen that as soon as Caherline moved up to Intermediate that they'd start winning east titles, well they are in the east final now against Doons second string, who've lost another couple of players to Senior. If kilteelys first team can't win against a second string outfit tis idle. Effin or Blackrock to win it out.

Doon have a large player base compared to Kilteely / Dromkeen. Doon won the Junior county league if memory serves me right this year. They would have players who have all plated premier minor and are favourites for the east title. Kilteely have good underage players comming through and will win an East title very shortly. The South play the West in the quarters so that means that 2 of the stroner teams will be out, with 2 from the City / East being in the semi's. In the semi's anything can happen so a surprise could be on the way.

the match was due to be played the weekend after the semi finals, but Feenagh said no, so there was no choice then but to push it out to the 20th of Sept..
The reason in that was because theres a few Feohanagh players away on holiday, & 2 due to get married, but there all going to be back for the final..

out of the team that started for kilteely in east semi final win over fedamore only 5 players were over the age of 24, that team is coming they have two county minors but are a work in progress

i think its amazing a team drawing from such a limited pool of players are so competitive dont forget, the football half of that parish won the jr A east and county league titles this year

Excuses are par for the course when it comes to Kilteely. If ye want to be taken seriously ye need to start winning east titles in Hurling and competing in County 1/4's and semi's at the very least. People aren't interested in how well the junior football is going,a competition of little interest ,sure S.liberties couldn't even field a team to play Kilteely last weekend!! Beat Doon in the east final, that will be a start.

Lot of people writin off city teams again but we are used to that in here. St pats hammered killmallock last yr and brought eventual champions monagea to replay?? wats bad bout that , and they have improved again, Crecora fine well balanced side also who will take plenty of beatin, so keep writin us off out there and come the county there will be timber and alot of people will be very surprised.!

Holygod, Have you seen all those teams you talk of playing this year? As you know Junior Hurling is won and lost in September / October / November. What Effin, Blackrock and Feenagh did in June & July will count for little now. St Pats probably concentrated on Football in the summer and will be stronger now in the Hurling. Crecora played most of their Junior B team in the ACHL. City teams are going to be dark horses in the quarter finals.

its a pity that with the east and south finals down for this weekend that the county 1/4 finals won't be played until the 2 nd week in October. Should be no reason why the county junior hurling and football could not be run off by the end of september each year. Doon have lost a couple of players to the seniors, so that will weaken their east and county ambitions.... only 2 pts between themselves and kilteely in the league final. Think effin are the strongest team in it but come the wet and muck of october....anything could happen

as a matter of fact i have seen st pats and crecora dis year.....their standard of hurlin is well below par compare to the south an west divisions.check the results of the league and see how dey got on...they were absolutely destroyed by sum teams 4m de south and i mean destroyed. im not writing dem off but my point is these teams will realisticly get anywhere wen it comes down 2 de muc and crap weather of october. dis is wats wrong in lim if poor teams get 2 win counties because of de time of yr and not bcause of their hurling capabilities. junior shud be played off earlier in yr. Pa mullins fine player. feenagh prob most physical side iv seen and will thrive in dese conditions...gud hurlers as well.

Your right about the ACL results, but this is championship. Doon won the Junior league this year. Last year Effin were the team to beat but they did'nt get out of the South . This year they will, but will be playing the West teams. Bottom line is that 2 City teams will be playing the East so have a 50 / 50 chance of being in Semi Finals. In a semi final one free taker has a good day and one a bad day and hey presto an underdog is in the county final. Your comments on the mucky pitch is not valid as the weather is as good now as it was in July / August if not better. Anyway Pats, Patrickswell and Crecora / Manister have young fit teams and will want good ptches and weather.

Anyone tell me who was de last city team 2 win the county was it kildimo...over east fair play 2 kilteely up and comin team, have a chance against doon, but doon have a wider selection 2 pick 4m and shud cum thru. hopefully the weather and pitches stay gud cause genuinely i just want to see the best HURLing team win the county dis yr and not sum mollockers why thrive in the ****.im just being completely honest wen i say the city division is the weakest out of the 4 divisions...yes they have a gr8 chance to make final cause drawn aagainst east and yes anythin can happen in semi finals.they do have a chance and may prove me wrong yet.

I think Mungret would be the last team to win the City about 3 years ago, they got relagated and went back up year after. With Blackrock and Effin drawing yesterday that puts pressure on them fixture wise as they have a lot of players on the an Emmets panel.

East final last night. Kilteely 2-15 Doon 0-8. . Didnt flatter Kilteely in the slightest. On a dry day this young team will be very dangerous. Maybe they are a year or two away from challenging at county level but the could cause a surprise. There young fellas were brilliant. By the end of the match there was nine players under 20 on the field
